Has anybody tried Gutkha yet? It is Indian chewing tobacco except you swallow it. Its a mix of Pan or Betel nut, baccy in concentrated powder form, and various flavorings like cardamom and clove. Massive nic hit but it rubs your gum and the inside of your cheeks raw. Fortunately the clove that is added does a grand job of locally anesthetizing your lower gum and cheek so you can keep on going day after day long after it is a sensible idea. Gotta love that ingenuity. Of course there are lots of articles about how readily it causes mouth cancer. Oh well.

Ive looked through here the past weekend and am curious to start using Snuff.. but have many lingering questions of course.. Im a long time snus user so the how to of snuff is new.. Ive gne to the FAQ and still have a few questions so here i go..

1) when you sniff it lightly in if you dont have any moistness in the nose doesnt the snuff simply fall back out? or is there more of a fine point between too soft n too hard?

2) Is it better to refrigerate the unused snuff like snus or is it not effected by the heat...

3) how often should one "pinch" is it similar to snus where the effect is not as strong if done too often?

4) How long should the snuff remain in the nose and how long roughly is its effect ... compared to snus or just in general :)

Thanks a lot and sorry for coming off as a total newbie :)

As a service to the snuffing community we are planning a page on our website listing as many brick and mortar stores that currently sell snuff. If you know of any stores that fall into this category please let me know and we will add them to the website. They deserve our support. While this may seen counter productive considering I sell snuff online, I think that in the long term it is good for us all. The more snuff gets into the wider community, the more people will choose brick and mortar stores for some snuffs they want right now, and online stores when they are willing to wait a few days and maybe have a wider selection. Also the more people use snuff the less likely we are, as a larger group, to allow negative legislation.

In addition if there is a store you would LIKE to sell snuff but currently doesn't add that one too. We will call them and let them know that there is at least one customer in their area who would support them if they stocked the good stuff. Make sure you let us know which brand you want us to advise them to stock.

Comments also welcome...;-)

Thanks
Dave

I love Mchrystals snuff they produce some of my favourite snuffs but the sizes are a bit off those 3.5g tins are just too small and i would like the O & G in the same size as the SP. As a newbie here, I may have missed this if it was an earlier topic. I have gathered from some of your posts where some of you call home (at least your country..sometimes your slang gives it away). But where specifically do you live?

As for me, I have always lived in Wilmington, Delaware, USA. Wilmington may be known to some of you as the home of the DuPont company and also as a banking center. What some of you know, and others do not, is that once we were famous for snuff!

Just five miles up one of the creeks that waters our city (Red Clay Creek) is the village of Yorklyn, where the original Garrett Snuff Mill was built way back in the early 1700's. I do not know the history very well (I think Troutstoker does) but at some point it belonged to Helme. This I do not understand as Garrett is now made by Conwood but Swisher retains the Helme name. Anyway, as a snuff beginner I have not graduated to the level where I can try Garrett's yet anyway, but I'm working on it!

The name lives on in Snuff Mill Road, which runs from Centerville to Yorklyn about a quarter mile south of the Pennsylvania border, which it roughly parallels. Its my favorite bicycle road for its long hill.

So again, where are the rest of you guys? I travel quite a bit, so its not impossible that I may have passed through or near your home. I'm also a geography buff, so finding your spot in the atlas is fun for me.

The annoying afternoons are going on this days, so me and my friends invented a very silly game, whit snuff.
It consist in taking snuff outside the tin (must be a moist snuff, as for eg. president or gletscher prise) letting it stay clogged, like sand castle (I can't find a better example) then trying to cut a slice of snuff whitout let it back to powder, The prize is obviously the cutted slice of snuff, but more bigger the slice more difficult is to keep the consistance...ok I know this sound crazy and us too... but is a funny way to let people and friends know about snuff!

When Roderick came forth with his fruity menthols, I first ordered a 10g tin of Raspberry and today I received my Blueberry and Cherry. Of the three, I like the Cherry most. I'm not fond of the straight Cherry but the menthol "tuned" snuff is perfect for me. It is well balanced with a 50/50 menthol/cherry taste. And, in the after glow, I detect Roderck's trade mark, a far away rich, real tobacco flavour. The raspberry menthol is second on my list with blueberry in a close 3rd position. I'm glad I don't have to chose only one but if I really had to, cherry would be my choice.

			Hi All,
I just wanted to apologise to anyone waiting for samples.
In the last two months we have had 1000's of requests for samples from Lithuania and this has caused us a great deal of problems. It appears there is a site for freeloaders that tells members of that forum where they can get products without paying. This is a great shame as we are unable to distinguish between genuine honest Lithuanian snuff users and those just trying to get something for nothing. We have reluctantly taken the decision not to send anymore samples to Lithuania. We also found that a lot of the samples we did send were being returned by Lithuanian customs. Once we clear the back log we will resume sending samples to all other countries.
Roderick
