Please keep in mind I’m a “Little Sniffer”, very new to snuff! So here’s my experience with Toque Snuff.
When I first received my samples I thought Great they are here. Then I tried them one at a time. I could not understand why everyone was giving Toque
Amazing reviews. Then I remembered a conversation I had with Troutstroke. To some it up he informed me when they arrive I would probably need to let them breath, because it was the freshest snuff on the market. Okay I re-checked my sources on breathing Troutstroke and Rodrick! I gave it another try yesterday.
Unfortunately I still encountered the same problems. Even though the The Ammonia scent had subsided a lot now. So I contacted Rodrick and told him my problem.

“Maybe It needs to air longer. My nose feels like it’s burning. I’m not sniffing it to back to my sinus, so it must need to air more. I can smell the tobacco in the snuff. But far as flavor I can not tell anything.”

I received a response this morning. Now Roderick I feel it’s important to post this for all the newbies, possibly even for those who are trying Toque for the first time. I found this information extremely helpful. Because, I was at a point of giving up and coming to the conclusion that this was not the snuff for me. You really don’t want to say something negative about a free gift.

    Hi Kim,
Both the Toffee and the Chocolate snuffs should have aired by now.
If your nose burns then you still are not used to taking pinches of snuff.
What to do is take a tiny amount quarter of a little finger, finger nail, so small that it doesn’t burn. You might sneeze a little. Then 2 minutes later take another equally small pinch and keep doing this for 5 mini pinches. Then have a break of 15/30 minutes then do the same thing again. This way you are accustoming your nose to the sensation and you should be able to build to bigger pinches.
    Good Luck
    Roderick

This information received this morning turned my thoughts.
Now that my Toque Chocolate and Toffee snuff has had time to breath. I can experience what most members of this forum rant and rave about. I was able to indulge myself. I do not know what a Cuban Cigar taste like, but being raised in St. Petersburg not far from Tampa where many of my relatives live and Cubans Resided. Then the Big Boom of Cigar being rolled in Tampa Florida. I do know a little something about Cigars. The Toque took my mind back to a special time in Tampa and the Gasparilla Pirate Festival & Parade. The scent of Cigars seeing many Pirates in the parade I could smell Fine Cigars. But it was the Tobacco in the Toque that snatched my senses and my mind straight back to the past. I could finally see Toque in the Horizon from the of Bow my Pirate Ship. I was close to home from the scents of Toque. Some say that snuff can be can be unforgiving. Well Toque in my book is Straight-Up Rebellion at it’s Best. I do love the fancy scents, but what’s a scent if you don’t start with a damn good Tobacco. Boy’s! Its Time Hoist The Colours!
    “Yo, ho, haul together,
    hoist the colours high.
    Heave ho,
    thieves and beggars,
    never shall we die….

Until Captain Jack(Rodrick) Releases A Fitting Banner the old Pirate Flag one will have to do! As Far as Rum and Salty Wenches. Well The Rum maybe Rodrick will come up with a Spice Rum Snuff for us in the future. As for the Wenches every man for himself, that’s if we ever see port again. I hope Davy Jones comes and takes that whip from Captain Jack that he has been using on the snuff workers, I keep hearing about..
This could turn out to be very interesting! Who do you think from the forum best would best depicts these characters. If I missed anyone feel free to add them.

I enjoyed them both The Toffee and the Chocolate.
The Pirate theme because it's Friday a day to have fun. Plus the Tobacco Reminded me of Tampa the smell of Pirates walking around with Cigars when I was young. Plus the Cigar shops over in Tampa. Toque snuff brought back fun memories of Gasparilla Pirate Festival & Parade. A Very Festive Time. Plus all the boats and ships. Then there is the noise of cannons. Gasparilla Pirate Festival & Parade

On a recent visit to New England I watched a baseball game on TV. It was the Boston Red Sox vs Tampa Bay Devil Rays...I think Tampa may have won but I don't remember...It was great to watch baseball as we never get it on British TV

Lazarus where in NE did you visit? I live just south of Boston. I try to go to at least 5-10 Red Sox games a year. I live so close to Fenway Park that I can drive to it from my place using only back roads which around here is quite an accomplishment. Last year for opening day me and my budies hung out in Boston all day and we won with 14 runs! What a party it is down there.
