This is a non-mentholated offering from Wilson's that is medium fine in grind and fairly dry, not toast dry, but one step away. The tin aroma screams spearmint at you, and this put me off a bit, as I don't particularly care for this flavor. Upon snuffing my feelings were confirmed, I don't care for spearmint. However I will attempt an impartial review just the same, for the benefit of my spearmint inclined brethren. The snuff experience is very clean and strong, almost menthol strong in the spearmint aroma, not lasting nearly as long however. This tastes very much like Wrigley's spearmint gum, with a noticeable nicotine kick. I imagine this is exactly what it would taste like if Wrigley's started making their own nicotine-gum! It is obvious this is a quality snuff with commensurate flavoring, but if you don't like spearmint, you're not going to like this stuff.

    Aloha!
    Justin

*edit* I have since discovered that this snuff is indeed mentholated, but it was masked to me by the over-powering flavor of the spearmint. This should give you an indication of just how strongly flavored this snuff is!

Hey Justin, have you had Crumbs of Comfort? This sounds pretty similar and I'm wondering what the differences are.

I have not had Crumbs of Comfort, but the description of Prime Minister on Mars's site is "similar to Crumbs of Comfort". If that's the case, I probably wont be trying CoC, as this flavor just isn't for me. By all means try Prime Minister and then write us up a review comparing it to CoC, I would be interested to know what the differences are, even if I don't really like the spearmint flavor that much.

    Aloha,
    Justin

Since when you click on the drop down bar to choose the size of crumbs of comfort it only lists the pound it must meen Mars is out of stock on the other sizes. I bought a 10 gram tin of Crumbs from himearlier this year, I'm sure he will have it available again soon in the smaller sizes....

I just ordered a bunch of Wilson's tins from Mars last week, and didn't have any problems. I also just checked out their site and the Wilson's seems to be available, I think they may just be out of tins of Crumbs of Comfort. Try looking again Merlin, and if what you are looking for is a spearmint snuff, I guarantee the Prime Minister will satisfy.

    Aloha,
    Justin

    Color: Medium to Dark Brown
    Texture: Fine
    Moisture: Moist
    Nicotine: ZOWIE!!!
    Drying Content: Low
    Sneeze Factor: None

Spearmint, Spearmint Spearmint!!!! This offering from Wilsons of Sharrow is very interesting, It's very moist (presumably from the spearmint oil added in copious amounts), Easy to take, and Over All Quite enjoyable. It is Mentholated, however, it's nearly un detectable due to the over strong flavoring. The Gods of spearmint have smiled down on the snuff tin this day. This isn't good for an all day IMHO. I think I'll enjoy this in the evening, before bedtime, almost like dessert in a snuff tin. This Might be good Mixed with a Chocolate Flavored snuff....

Spearmint and chocolate does sound interesting. I keep thinking I should mix some Chocolate with some Mastiff (which is peppermint), but haven't gotten around to it yet. Might be like a York patty up the nose.

My thoughts Exactly!! Although I was tinking along the lines of Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, I'll have to order some Chocolate and give it a try. I Wonder What the proportions should be. Andy, Who makes a good Chocolate Snuff? and who makes Mastiff?

The only Chocolate I know if is from S. Gawith. It's reviewed on the Snufftalk site by, well, modesty prevents. Mastiff is also Gawith-- it's the strongest peppermint I've come across thus far.

Just had a thought-- an all-Gawith mix of Black Coffee, Chocolate, and Mastiff. Whoo boy, that might just be fine.

Prime Minister has grown to be a top-tenner of mine.
Nice rounded menthol experience, and to me the spearmint, although strong, doesn't swamp that, but overlays it. Having said which, I do enjoy pepping the menthol up with a little WoS Extra Menthol and/or McChrystal's Sturco (which appears to almost guarantee at least one good sneeze) and/or WoS SM500. It's fun to vary the experience.

I like PM especially over the morning and into the early afternoon, and also as an occasional pep-up later in the evening. It's superb at cutting through a late-night fug, espcially if alcohol-induced. In fact it can get very moreish on such occasions.

In my opinion PM is quite a lot better than the other Wilsons of Sharrow spearmint special, Crumbs of Comfort. Now that one is Wrigley's Spearmint, sweeter and a bit more of a two-dimensional experience than PM.

Just opened up a tin of Wilsons Prime Minister... For tasting purposes of course, so I can do a write up on Snuff Store.

I would agree with Smarvy on the grind, but mine was moist-ish. Spot on with the tin aroma, most definitely spearmint as you open the tin.

Prime Minister does have a nicotine kick and it's very reminiscent of Crumbs Of Comfort on first sniff. It is mentholated and is described as such on Sharrow's background information. The spearmint is much stronger than Crumbs, Prime Minister is like Crumbs, but on spearmint steroids...

Crumbs Of Comfort is one of my favourite snuffs, if it's one of yours, then I'm sure you'll like Prime Minister too.
