Does anyone here use snuff bullets, single snorters, double snorters, spoons or any other paraphernalia to take their snuff?

    If so, why?

    Cheers!

For now all I could find is a demitasse spoon. I wanted something feminine, cute and it was cheap. I used it for the first time last night and liked it a lot. Sits next to my computer and my snuff can. Why? Just didn’t think it was to sanitary using my finder nails to sniff. When I put it in my mouth by hand wet snuff gets up under my nails. I can use the spoon and see just what I getting and place it in my mouth a lot better.

Ive got several Toque bullets - they are convenient and discreet but the snuff never tastes the same from them and Ive largely abandoned them now, for me pinching is the only way..

Good old fashion back of hand here. Only time it's an issue is on the golf course in windy conditions. May pick up a bullet for golf.

I suspected I would get these sorts of response, it seems most snuff users don't bother with this kind of gear...I wouldn't dream of judging anyone who does though!

You know it funny you that you say that. I don't know if you are, but I am sure a bunch of the guys here are part of another Snuff group that is hosted through yahoo. Well just the other day there was a post by a guy complaining that new snuff takers are disgracing the name of snuff by using such things as double shooters, snuff pipes, etc.. He claims that we treat Snuff like it was an illegal drug (read: cocaine). He goes on to say that we are only doing snuff as part of a trend and eventually we will stop and only the real snuff takers (the traditionalists as he says) will be left. So then he starts his own group of select Snuff takers. To join you must be a British Traditional Snuff taker and nobody else! He also made claims that other forums (I'm sure this is one of them) were full of drug taking nuts who only took snuff to get a high. Now I know many times I and others have discussed what snuff has the most nicotine in it, as I was a smoker and was trying to quit. Well he quoted that as a problem with the new guys, all we care about is a fix! We apparently have competitions to see how much snuff we can take at once and how much of a head rush we can accomplish. I assume that stems from posts of us comparing the size of snuff we took on the backs of our hand.

I'm sorry for rambling there but this email got me mad to say the least. I for one am a new Snuff user but am hardly doing it as a trend. To be honest where I am from Snuff taking is hardly a trend, as a matter of fact I am an outcast doing it. I have to explain to people what it is, and how it is used, even let them sample before they understand. So I am not surfing some trend! I also do have a Snuff pipe as I on some snuffs do take lines. Mostly I pinch but there are certain snuffs and even snuff containers that are easier to pour out and make a line. I actually was a heavy smoker that was testing different roll up tobacco on the internet when I stumbled across snuff. I knew what it was but never realized it was still available. After trying it, I was able to finally quit smoking for good! Now I love the stuff both for enjoyment and that it keeps me smoke free. So I am no hyped up drug taking head rush seeking snuff newbie! I am a regular Snuff user just like the rest of us on this board.

Thats awful, I've never heard of someone like that before, he sounds like a snuff facist!! I don't think it matters how you take snuff or why you take it, as long as you enjoy it who cares? As for snuff being trendy I agree with you; its not trendy at all! I live in the UK and you very very rarely see snuff in shops and whenever I have a pinch in public I can feel people staring at me trying to work out what i'm doing...my friends and family think i'm mad or just going through a phase or something...many people don't even know what snuff is!!

I did consider joining that yahoo group for snuff takers but if its populated with people like that I may well stear clear of it...get a fix? I have to use snuff quite heavily before I feel any different!

I have said on another forum that unfortunately snuff seems to have lost its popularity not only because cigarettes are eaiser to get hold of and 'cool' for young people to use but sniffing substances up your nose smacks of substance abuse (even though it isn't) and alot of people are turned off by that...for me the most unpleaseant part of snuff is definately cleaning your nose out but every nice habit has a downside...you eat too much chocolate you get fat, you drink too much you get a hangover, you use snuff and the contents of your nose turn a disgusting colour (not that it was pretty in the first place but you know what I mean) but I can live with that!

Well don't let that turn you away from joining that group. For the most part it isn't bad. I prefer this one many times over then the yahoo one. I joined a few when I first started just to find out which one I would like. The yahoo group is not as active as this one but isn't a bad place, just has a few people that are way to uptight. Snuff does go up your nose, the same way some drugs do. So you have to expect the tools of the trade will be similar. I can tell you this though, I haven't stolen my parents jewelry for a fix of Snuff. Well at least not yet, I do love snuff!

Thats one of the best things about snuff ; its dirt cheap! I have hardly scrached the surface of my snuff collection and ive been snuffing for over a month!! I am apparently classed as a 'very light' user as I usually only snuff 5-6 times a day (some do it 5-6 an hour apparently!) though sometimes more if I'm bored at work (like today) sometimes I snuff more than usual just to try and practice my technique. I tend to suffer quite alot with snuff hitting the back of my throat but i'm a tad congested at the moment due to mild hayfever plus 90% of my snuffs are mentholated which apparently can make your nose run so that might explain it...

The guy on the other site sounds like a dick brain, does he mean you have to be a British snuffer or use British snuff?

I joined the yahoo group as well as snuff tobacco uk, but left them because there was long gaps in between posts and just not enough discussion - it just proves this site is the best.

The earliest known references to snuff taking in Britain and Ireland mention quills and "ladles" being used in the 1500's. I've even encountered mention of a box that used a spring loaded pipe to dispense snuff onto the back of the hand in the same period. The more fastidious snuffers actually considered pinching to be unsanitary. This chucklehead on Yahoo is probably the same one who has pulled similar stunts in the past. At least his current nom de plume isn't as preposterous as Wellington Winston Smyth, although equally pretentious. You would think that Graeme would learn.

I like the idea of the bullet but I think the design could be improved by changing the barrel shape. A strait barrel will shoot the snuff up too high. I would like to see a barrel that opens up wide to spray the snuff out instead of up. I guess I could modify one and see. Spoons are great, especially for getting to the bottom half of the F&T tins. A snorting tube for me seems a little unnecessary and unless it had a special design for a wider dispersion pattern I wouldn't bother. But if sanitation is an issue and/or your having some kind of snuff party, tubes, spoons, gift bullets etc. would all add to the interest and would be a fun addition.

Wow now that the yahoo group has blown up, I am guessing because of my post it is a great group. The best part is the main offender is now quoting the above post and using it to prove some sort of point. So I guess with all his dislike for SnuffHouse.org he still finds time to read a few posts, how nice.

Juxtaposer - the problem with the bullets I have is that I always get a whiff of acrylic with them and they are lousy at keeping snuff in good condition. I took one to work this morning, just for convenience, and filled it with fresh sp before I left. By mid morning it was dry. They were invented to snort coke with afterall.

I used to like bullets, but they invariably shoot too far for me. I prefer the pinch or a pipe nail spoon.

dajawu this guy on the list sounds like a stupid ignorant snob and bigiot. I hate people who have the additude only they do something correctly. You should slap him in the face and tell him he's just trying to be trendy himself useing english snuff which is non-tradional in the first place since the english copied off of the indginous people anyways. I don't care that this dumby-head on yahoo has a misinformed opinion I do however hate the level of self-rightiousness and superiority the naked classism of it.
Plus I hate when people get angery at others for pointing out something about themselves indirectly, in this case that he likes the snuff buzz and that it is a drug and he can't now pretend to be the clean non-buzz seeker that he would love to pretend to be. That's my oponion. Well here hopes his group goes well and they get to drown in the mediocratiy of isolationisms.
Not a big deal but does give an opritunity to slam someone.

snuff goes up your nose like a drug cause it is a drug. Often when strangers ask me what I'am doing or sniffing up my nose (I sometimes am very approciable, othertimes the opposite) I love to respond with "drugs". That usaly gets an even more confused look then the next question "no really what is it" (I like how if you say that's what your doing straight up most people can't believe it even if that is what they thought was going on before). Then at that point you say it's drugs they're just legal drugs in this case tobacco. Where oddly when I say tobacco or snuff it confuses more people.
Though I don't have too much concern with that and somehow it seems to avoid anyone taking notice. In fact most people don't even seem to notice you snuffing unless you act like you have to hide it (which makes me think you'd be able to walk around snorting coke if you didn't act like you had to hide it.)

I'm a pinch man myself. But do use a spoon on occasion and also the bullet has its place. I use the bullet moistly when I'm driving or I'm outside doing yard work or working in the veggy garden when my hands might be too dirty to take a pinch. Although I have taken a few pinches before with mud under the fingernails. Heck I've even taken a pinch when my hands were covered in deer blood, guts & hair. Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do.

gross. :) I use the spoon a lot and the bullet also pinch. The bullet is definatly always with me outside just incase there is a strong gust of wind when I want some snuff. The bullet also works well in the rain too.

I just read the post over on the Yahoo group. It made me ashamed to be British. Snuffster: believe it or not, you have to be BRITISH to join his sad little newsgroup, not just a lover of British snuff.

Here's some quotes from the nasty old git:
"We need a group devoid of American 'Know it Alls'!
"We have the nucleus of a fine group for Brits underway."
"I don't like Americans, can you show me anyone who does?"

I guess every society has it's share of grubby reactionary wankers. Unfortunately the ones we churn out tend to be loud, arrogant and obnoxious too.
