Just noticed on the new Bernard site that they are now exclusive importers of Samuel Gawith snuffs and pipe tobaccos. I find myself wondering if Sam Gawith will be importing the Bernard snuffs.... Certainly hope so, but there is no mention of that there or on the Sam Gawith site.

Samuel Gawith are shipping their snuffs now in the same tins as Bernard does (with Jubiläums-Snuff, Polar-Prise).
Maybe also a sign that they could work together a bit.

I order from here. They have lots of good stuff and don't rip off on shipping like Rajeks. I will never order from them. http://www.mysmokingshop.co.uk

Now since this topic is again on top: Bernard continues with the snuff production as a little 2 mens business. Here
is a little movie about their previous Schmalzler factory many years ago. Its in german, but the pictures show how
    their snuff is produced:

nice little video didi878, but the uncleanliness of the mill makes me wonder what else ends up in the snuff. From hair, dust balls & rust from the machinery to insects & mice/rat poop. If that is the 'previous factory' I hope the new one is a little cleaner.

The movie is from 1979 and shows the snuff manufacturing with their historical machines. They have announced
now that they are completely switching to 10 gram tins, because its to much work to fill the 50 gr cartons by hand.
Guess its all much more automated now.

I agree, that mill looks a bit unsanitary!!! But a cool video...Hopefully no mouse droppings in my snuff!

at the end of the movie they say thay the factory is not used any more and that it is now turned into a snuff museum.

a few seconds earlier they insist, that these old-fashioned factoring process is important for the quality.... so maybe we miss out in the rat droppings..

    probably more sanitary now.

Bryan - I agree with your choice of purchase. My Smoking Shop Uk is where I buy all my snuff from. Maybe not the cheapest, but a huge selection of snuff, cigars and all the things I like!

Cool Mopey. Yeah- they have a great selection. I actually have only purchased from them once. I only use them to get the Bernard Snuffs. I order most of my snuff directly from Toque or from Snuffstore. There's also an American supplier called Snuffshop and I use them to get whatever they have because they deliver very fast, and I want to support American suppliers.
