With Bernard Tobacco Inc. ending opperations at the end of may; i was hoping for a list of what snuff will be r.i.p. and also descriptons of the snuff. I want to purchase these before i never have the chance to try them again, but i found it diffuclt to tell which snuff Bernard Tobacco Inc. producded on rajeks site, also the website is lacking decriptions for most of these snuffs.
This is what they have left on their site, with a little bit more information, but you have to remember that this is only what I thought of them!
If you love Schmalzlers then I would recommend Bernard Brasil Feinst, Bernard Klostermischung and Bernard Brasil Fresco. I think that Bernard Aecht Altbayrischer Schmalzler is the same as Brasil Fresco only in a smaller package.
The ones in the little bottles are like no other snuff, I didn't necessarily liked them so much but they're special. (Alt Offenbacher Köstlich, Civettte, Kownoer, Pariser)
Bernard Aecht Altbayrischer Schmalzler: Schmalzler, mild spicy, maple, sweet
Bernard Alt Offenbacher Köstlich: Naturel tobacco, sweet, very aromatic
Bernard Amostrinha: Camphor, little menthol, dates, medicinal
Bernard Brasil Doppelt Fermentiert: Schmalzler, maple, spicy, chocolate, dates, raisins
Bernard Brasil Feinst: Schmalzler, maple, sweet
Bernard Brasil Fresco: Schmalzler, maple, sweet, spicy, mild
Bernard Civette Extrafein: Cigar, citrus, spicy, leathery, musk
Bernard Edelweiß: Menthol, floral, fruits, no tobacco
Bernard Feiner Offenbacher Cardinal: Natural tobacco, sweet liquor
Bernard Feinster Kownoer: Cigar, light floral, roses, geranium
Bernard Gekachelter Virginie: Very smoky, latakia, leathery
Bernard Jubiläums-snuff: Menthol, fruit
Bernard Klostermischung: Schmalzler, sweet, hint of rum, mild
Bernard Naseweiss: Mild menthol, grape sugar, no tobacco
Bernard Naseweiss Extra: Strong menthol, grape sugar, no tobacco
Bernard Pariser No.2: Cigar, slightly sweet, little spicy, leathery
Bernard Polar Prise: Menthol, peppermint
Bernard Schmalzler Weiß-Blau: Menthol, herbs, no tobacco
Bernard Zwiefacher: Mild menthol, eucalyptus, maple, vanilla
well, i have selected what i want to order from rajeks, but the shipping is 18 euros. my order is 23 euros. so i'm in a pickle. the shipping price seems extreme to say the least. any ideas?
haha yeah, i thought about that. but i just placed a large order on mon from smokeshop. i live in the in the states, so hmm... some in the order are already 50g bags and the whole order together is almost a keilo haha i guess i can order then set up a snuff selling stand. spread the snuff in america the old fashion way door to door. like jwitness get some new converts in.
Well your order with their standard shipping should be around 16 euro. But they do mention for international orders to request a quote for potentially cheaper shipping rates. So you may want to request a quote for your order to see if they can ship it cheaper.
On their site if you click on the shipping link and it should explain this better. srajek has made posts on here before explaining this as well. You can search on here for 'rajeks shipping cost' and you should find it.
You can find it in a german smokeless forum: http://www.smokeless-forum.de/3/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2763&start=60
The company is in the german industry register now since june 17, 2008 as Bernard Schnupftabak GmbH. http://www.unternehmensregister.de .. so its true..
I did stock up but I'm not sorry I did. For a start we don't know when things will get going again and more particularly whether everything will stay in production. Besides, my stockpile is very carefully stored and should be good for a long time :)
that really looks good. hope they make it . especially hope they will revive the discontinued tobacco like the "fichtennadeltabak" and the "russischer augentabak"
i am not really mad i stocked up on it, its hardly likely to lose in worth. its only that i would not have bought about half a kilo right now if i had known... ^^
they used to make a big selection of traditional tobaccos, some of which still have reviews on www.daft.de. maybe we could write them a group mail and ask them to bring them back.
somehow it seems to me that producing and even storing lots of different snuffs is not such a big problem, its more the distribution that is a problem? if that is true, they could go the poeschl way and have some tobaccos they only make available via the internet or via specialized regional stores.
Comment on the Bernard snuffs....anyone here get the same aroma to most of there Schmalzler Snuff or is it just me!! Got quite a few to stock up to see if I should buy more before the close out so now I don't need to worry bout that hopefully...Just curious about the scents on everyone else nose with Bernard's Snuff.
All Schmalzlers are to some extent variations on a theme so similarities are to be expected, particularly among those from any one manufacturer. Having said that there is quite a big difference between the Bernard ones and those from Sternecker for instance.
