    Hello,

Next month (16 May 2008) I am going on a short trip to London.

Can you recommend some shops where to buy traditional englisch snuff?

I have heard of the legendary shop “G. Smith and Sons”. Can you recommend it? Do you have the adress and the nearest tube station?

Thank you very mich in advance.

    Best regards,

    Michael

Remember to take along a bucketload of cash !

The prices at Smith's are eye-wateringly high.

10g of GH, Wilsons, Poschl etc is £3.25
    1oz of F&T is £4.55
10g of their own snuff range is £4.45, 25g is £6.60

I have to agree with SnuffHead though - both their Cafe Royale and George IV are extremely good snuffs.

I agree, a really good place and probably the last of its type. They are expensive but the occasional good deal comes up, I got a plastic snuff box - just a workaday thing - for £5 a couple of years ago. They also do some good rosewood traditional boxes and handkerchiefs. There is also the snuff and segar parlour at Covent Garden, which is just a few minutes walk. Enjoy

If you want a good plastic snuff box get yourself some Robby's Top Mint Snuff before it's discontinued, I've had mine ages.

Yeah, thats pretty good, I had one ages ago. I guess the new ones are ruined by the hideous health warning

No, its like a lighter scented version of Gletscherprise Extra if you've ever tried that one.

the extra sounds really awesome in my opinion. Even though somehow the regular gletscherprise always hits me as awesome at first then about half way through the tin it becomes the most o.k. snuff ever. Don't really know how that works, though the extra sounds like the bomb.
