Hi everyone, great website. I'm a newbie to snuff. Bought my first tins just 3 days ago. I live in the suburb of Detroit, Michigan. Non of the tobacco stores around me sell snuff so last Friday I drove an hour away to a tobacco store that sold american snuff. It was worth the trip. I purchased three tins, W.E. Garrett Scotch, W.E. Garrett Swett Mild and Railroad Mills Swett Scotch. I tried the Railroad Mills while driving home and man what a head rush! Probably not the best time to try snuff for the first time. I'm really looking forward to buying some non american snuff, just trying to decide what web site to use and what to buy. Any recomendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Toque would be #1 on the list. My orders get to me in 5 days from the UK to Dallas TX. snuffstore, mysmokeshop and mars cigar all have great service. Happy snuffing jimmyc
jimmyc, here is a list of online snuff shops: Snuff SHop List. For the US try Lil Brown, MarsCigars, NicotineRush, SnuffShop, QWS, All these are good. For a great selection of snuff & accessories from all types of manufactures try SnuffStore. They are in the UK but delivery to US only takes 4-7 days on avg. Also Toque offers free shipping for their snuff with same avg shipping time as snuffstore.
Thanks for the recomendations everyone. I think i'll first try Snuff Shop since i'ts in the USA and will probably be the quickest delivery. Hopefully i'll have some new snuff for the weekend.
Welcome all, for those wishing to try snuffs other than the US ones, Toque and Dholakia are probably the snuffs of the moment, and for customer service I've yet to see any company better Toque.
Hi there, my name is Martin and I have been using snuff for a few months now. I have been experimenting with a number of snuffs. I started with Gawiths Apricot and moved on to Packards club. I've settled on Lowen Prise for everyday and Zwiefacher Schmalzler snuff for when I fancy a treat! I have also recently tried American scotch snuffs, Rooster (ouch!) and Buttercup. Anyway, nice to be a part of this site. Any recommendations by the way?
Hi there
I am relatively new to snuff and I am trying to quit smoking cigarettes. I have cut down from 10 + cigs a day to 4! I enjoy the buzz of nasal snuff and hope to try other flavors.
Any tips?
Hi All. I'm new here.........duh. I've been snuffing on and off for the last 40 years. Long time cig smoker, quit smoking with snus about 2 years ago. Snus makes it easy to stop smokin. I've been getting into different snuff lately. I'm an old Dr. Rumleys Mentholyptus snuffer. There I dated myself, lol. Now I use Wilsons Menthol Plus since the Dr. is retired.
I come from the SnusOn board where I know Robme and several other great guys, some I see here too [but I forget who you are cuz you use a different username here]. And I'm old and I forget sometimes, lol.
I have ordered snuff from Roderique and Tom. Nice guys.............
Welcome to all the new members, you have made a good choice in using snuff, there is also a real depth of knowledge here and most questions and issues can be answered.
grybuks - sorry mate but you can't buy snuff anywhere as the shopkeeper would stand to get a heavy fine and the police sometimes run test-buying operations, so most shop keepers won't risk it. Personally, I would say at your age don't get hooked on any form of tobacco. A lot of us here are long term addicts and I wouldn't recommend you become one. This is exactly what I say to my son who is the same age as you - so sorry for preaching!
Hello, I'm a new guy to your forum. Name is Thomas Collins, live in Millsboro, Delaware MidAtlantic region.Hobbies include reading, SCFI, Astronomy and AstroPhotography, a budding Acrylic Paint artist, and my love of tobacco, in all its forms.
I chew occassionaly, dip a bit, smoke a little more than a pack a day and have about 8 canisters of varied dry nasal snuff. My favorites Wilsons of Sharrow (Aniseed Extra, Menthol Plus), Ozona Cherry, Packard's Club, Poschl's Gletscher Prise, and my number one Gawith Apricot---What a Rush!!!
I use it when ever I want to basically sometimes up to 20-25 times a day. At the end of the day I rinse with a saline solution ready and fresh for the next day.
Acrylics are a water based polymer paint, no odor, no solvents. Everything cleans up with water....I do remember building models and the smell of the Testors glue, just a sniff or two would buzz me but knew that couldn't be good so kept it at arms length...
I use acrylics and my local supermarket, oddly enough, carries quite a bit of art stuff and also pre-stretched canvas, so I'm slowly inundating myself with Van Gogh influenced pictures of my house and garden. My wife likes them so thats good enough for me, Ive also given a few away although you can never be sure if people accept them just to please!
In the summer I spent some time in France and met a local artist who proved to me how little technique I have, he was some painter I can tell you.
I love tobacco in all its forms and chew, dip and - if I fancy it now and again - smoke. My main addiction is Toque and I happily make home blends - right now its a mixture of original, raspberry and some WOS french carotte - that makes a real smooth blend.
Hi all ive been lurking for a couple of weeks now due to not getting verified but seems Alex has cleared all that up now. Anyway I'm just a farm boy from michigan just started snuffing about a month ago, typical stumbled on to some WE Garret scotch senario then ordered some Wilsons and with all the good publicity im really condidering giveing some toque a try.
Welcome Johndeere89 from Hull in Yorkshire UK, your not over a copper mine are you? I have a friend who worked as a smelter in Hanckock if your in that part. iloita.
Hello to all at the Snuffhouse,
May i introduce myself, my name is Denzle and i live in South Wales. I was first introduced to snuff back in the early 70's when i commenced work in the coal mine. My staple then being Dr.Rumneys menthol, Wilsons and Hedges. After finishing with the NCB (British Coal) in 1991 i somewhat lost the snuffing habit but would occasionally pick up the odd box when or where available. Within the last year i bumped into an old friend of mine from the "Pit" who once was my sniffing partner in crime, and proceeded to offer me a "pinch". Needless to say i'm back on it again. At the moment i'm still experimenting with various flavours and brands and my current favourites are the F&T's and i have a particular penchant for their Bordeaux, Morlaix and French Carrotte and i still have the occasional Hedges moment. I'm presently in possession of about 30 tins of varying brands and flavours, so i still regard myself as a learner. I had no idea how many types are out there. Looking to have a crack at the Dry Toasts in the not too distant future!!!.

Agree LikeAs far as recommendations, you seem to enjoy Poschl snuffs so I would suggest you give Poschl Kloster Andechs a try. Its a very tasty snuff.
If you haven't checked it out yet, Snuff Reviews.com is a good resource for reviews.
