Jonny 24, England. I'm back to using snuff again. I don't live too far from "Wilsons Of Sharrow" snuff factory. Always trying new snuff brands. My favourite ones at the moment: Hedges L260, McChrystal's, Fribourg & Treyer: High Dry Toast.
Hey fellow snuffers, SnuffSniffer here a.k.a. Aaron, I have been snuffing for about a month and a half and am enjoying the Hell out of it, I'm on the space coast in FL and I'm glad to be a member of this forum hope to learn/share a lot, happy snuffing.
Hi y'all, I'm from West Virginia. I'm new to snuffing and want to learn the proper techniques and anything else that will help with this new form of tobacco use. I have lots of questions. Thanks.
Hello All: I put a few introductory comments in a different thread, and should do so here. I've been taking snuff for a little over 18 months, using it and snus to kick a 30 year smoking habit. I'm amazed, actually, that I was able to do so. In that time I've been trying lots of different snuffs, mainly British.
My name is Tania I live in Washington state in the U.S., I have been snuffing for a little over 3 months. It's a 'hobby' that is almost non existant here in the US and people usually think me a little odd for inhaling ground tobacco (ofcourse they are really missing out). I prefer the more aromatic snuffs such as Royal George and Grand Cairo, and ofcourse I wouldn't be able to function without a little Whisky and Honey every hour or so. I think that snuffing is one of the greatest pleasures and am happy that both me and my husband share such an awesome addiction. I can honestly say that I would still snuff even if the nicotine wasn't present.
Hello all. I'm 2 weeks into snuff and enjoying it very much. I smoked a pack a day for 25 years and was looking for an effective way to quit. I found out about snus (virtually unknown here in Canada) and kissed cigarettes good bye about half a year ago. Some members of a snus forum I frequent would talk a lot about snuff. At first I was skeptical, but between reading what they were saying and perusing this site, curiosity got the better of me and I ordered the 10 for the price of 9 from Toque. Am I ever glad I did! I find snuff very enjoyable and now eagerly await another order that I placed to explore some different styles and flavours. It should arrive early next week. Also, some travelling relatives will be bringing me back some American scotches in a couple of weeks. A big thank you to this site for opening my eyes to the world of snuff!
Hello everyone. Since I've just started posting after several months of lurking it seems polite to say hello properly! My name is Justin, and I live in Sussex (England). I first took snuff as a teenager and have enjoyed it occasionally since, but took up the delightful habit again properly a year ago and have been making up for lost time since then. I'm currently investigating schmalzers from Bernard and Poschl (current favourite is Klostermischung, although that monk does look really dodgy) but my staples remain Wilsons Jockey Club, Brunswick and Queen's Extra Strong.
Queen's Extra Strong is an SP variant - it's exactly the same as their Tom Buck - so none of the floral scent at all. It's more or less the same grind and moisture though - and probably the same base tobacco.
@Sloth Yes, my apologies! If I'd known that there was already a sloth hanging out here I would have picked a different name. I tend to use sloth357 on forums because sloths are cool, and 357 is the number of the Masonic Lodge of which I am a member.
No, at least not intentionally. Thats just me and my husband at Christmas....I'm terrified of cameras, and I was a little drunk so I allowed my picture to be taken. As for the previous cats, that was Raymond and Chobin Hood...both males, and well...Raymond is queer, he's also blind so maybe he just can't tell. We're all a little odd in this house.
Hello all! I'm relatively new to snuff, but have been passionate about tobacco for quite some time now. I am in the process of coming from Swedish Snus to nasal snuff.
After years of lurking I finally signed up in June and it only took me an additional 8 months to post! I'm mostly a pipe guy but have been enjoying snuff off and on for about 5 years now. Currently enjoying some Molens Limburgertabak that seems have taken the Concorde over from the Isles as it arrived in just three days. Good stuff!
Thanks Harlequin. I was floored to see the pipe smoking scene in "Fantastic Mr. Fox" so I've been using that image ever since. And no Mouse, I haven't tried Musinotabak yet but will get to it eventually as Molen's snuff is universally excellent.
Good day folks.. Nice to meet you all.. Im a 40 year old nasal snuff noob from Richmond, KY. I'm a pipe smoker for about 6 months, and hookah and dokha smoker for about a year now. Im here trying to learn my way around the nasal snuff world.. Thanks!
Well, dokha is a form of smoking tobacco that came out close to the same time as hookah tobacco use did.. It was common in the Caspian Sea area, and was shared amoungst the sailors are those in the local port areas.. I assume because hookah smoking and ships didn't really get along well. It was a strong locally grown (in the area that is now considered the UAE) mixed with dried powdered fruits, flowers and essential oils. It is a smoked in a very small diameter (sometimes long and sometimes short) pipe called a medwakh. During the Ottoman empires ban on tobacco, hookah, for obvious reasons fell out of favor. The Medwakh and Dokha gained massive popularity and spread like wildfire because it was very small and easy to ditch should a city guard, or could easily be concealed. Also, since the amount of dokha smoked was always VERY small, yet so strong.. there was almost no exhaled smoke.. and what little bit of scent that it did create, more often then not smelled more like normal spiced incenses then tobacco burning.. Once the Ottoman empire was gone and there was no more tobacco ban, hookah regained popularity in the region.. and Dokha and medwakh use subsided, however, it stayed very popular amoungst long distance travellers and seamen in the area..

Agree LikeHi Sloth357,
Just curious, how is the Queens Extra Strong? I'm a big fan of Jockey Club as well, but was wondering if Queens had the same type of floral scents.
