Yes, new to the site, hi everyone! Yeah, had my first sniff about 20 years ago, when I was 15 (in minnesota, USA) locally the tobacco age restrictions/laws were not so strict and harsh. Since then I typically used to just ocassionally buy a box of something Poschl, or less often a bit of McChrystal's O&G- which was about all I could find in this area (sadly) . In the last 4/5 years ago, finally found some resources to get my hands on some Wilson's o.s., Sam Gawiths, Gawith Hoggarths, Bespokes etc. And a whole new world has opened! Especially recently, it's getting easier to cut down on the cigarrettes, and around here that helps a lot- no more smoking in bars & restaurants in this state. Otherwise, I'll just say that I smoke pipes & cigars, and yes some cigarettes still, and am learning to enjoy the finer things (good ales, gin, quality coffees & teas etc). Will check in on more of the conversations soon, when I find some more time. Thanks for listening!

    @ Mr. O

Do you still live in Minnesota? Where abouts? I am in Maple Grove - a west suburb of Minneapolis. Where do you buy your snuff locally? I have been searching for a tobacconist in the area.

    Welcome to Snuffhouse.org!!

Thank's all! Good to meet you! Will visit again soon. One note, I don't have my own computer at the moment- so there may be gaps in time between visits when I can borrow internet access. Later!

hey everyone, iv visited this site a few times and found it great, and obviously recently became a member, you guys have been a lot of help to a new snuff-ster like myself. my personal thanx to tom at nic-rush. iv made a few orders with great product and service. iv been snuff-in for about 8 months to ween off the cigs and its helped alot, maybe im an odd duck, but my favorites are the bernards altbayerischer schmalzler, bruton scotch, and mc christals o&g witch i realize are all different types of snuff, lol guess im starting to be a snuff whore!
    seems to me:
its not a hobbie, or addiction.
    its a lifestyle!
keep on snuffing brothers! and keep up the good work

Hi everyone. I'm new to the world of snuff, been a smoker for roughly 20 years and I've tried other things to help me quit, the e-cigarette thing, cold turkey(which was not fun lol), even chew, but so far, snuff has been the only thing to help me cut back, and I really enjoy the flavor. Unfortunately, not able to find much snuff in the smoke shops here in Salt Lake City. Poschl's Gawith Apricot and Ozona President is pretty much all I can find. My girlfriend and I both really enjoy the Apricot though. Will be making an order from Nicotine Rush here soon I hope, so I can try some of the more potent snuffs. Any suggestions to someone who is a newbie, but kinda really needs a high nicotine level?

Online is pretty much the only way. Most places in the US have very little to offer. Its either Pöschl or WE Garrett, the alpaha and the omega. The best thing to do for starters is order one or two from all the major companies and go from there. We'll be here to guide you when you tell us what you like. Don't worry about quitting smoking right away. That will come in time.

yeah I've read a few pages here that concerned the higher nic snuffs, and Taxi Red has kinda intrigued/scared me lol, along with the FUBAR and Rooster. I think those may be awhile before I try them.

@snuff_n00b -- If unscented is what you are willing to try, I recommend Toque Quit. To me this was a great higher nicotine starter snuff, it is easy to take for me. I hope this helps, just be aware of a little nose burn (not nearly as much as rooster or other nicotine trucks)

A very warm welcome to all our new members; if you have any questions just ask away as someone here will know the answer.

By the way, it takes time to get accustomed to snuff so don't be put off. It takes a while to find the right snuff for you but there are so many blends it will happen.

Great to have you on board!

I think the best snuff-with-training-wheels would be some of the QWS (Quit with Snuff") and "Rocket!" brand snuffs (these are two that have no smell, no zing no nothing to me at all now.. but at very very first they did.. a little anyway)

    Rockit Naked
QWS "Smoker's Blend" (even if you're not a smoker)

Those are the ones I think of when I think of really beginner snuffing, and they're unflavored (I call them 'dirt snuff' now.. like sniffing dirt, but with less punch and flavor even than dirt would have)

ones I would say are maybe a bit more 'intermediate' or a step up (and much better imo)

    Toque Natural Toast
    Toque Original
    Toque Whiskey & Honey
    Toque Bourbon
Toque Cheese & Bacon (the crack cocaine of snuff for me lol)
McCrystal's 'S'nuff' is also really good

and what snuffster said -- yes abslutely
I was just about to give up on snuff when all I had the Rockit and the QWS (I was thinking 'this isn't doing anything for me.. whats the point?" etc
but that McCrystal's keep me in the game thankfully.. and then I went and got a bunch of Toques, then finally an order for some stronger stuff (Rooster, Taxi, WE Garret)

Finding the right snuffs makes the difference.. and you might have to weed through some stuff to find it (you don't even wanna know about my 'floral snuff fiasco' along the way) but its worth it

PS, if you go to the MrSnuff website (clickable from the list on the left) on the front page is an interesting "Snuff Wizard" where you can pick various options (including easy medium and hard levels of snuff).. be warned, not all available snufffs appear in the wizard (they're not all ranked and don't all show up) and I'm not sure how they came to decide on some of them but it seems pretty accurate (its the guide I went by and sometimes still play with it for sorting).

thanks watadork and whistlrr, I had been seriously considering Toque as my next purchase and now I'm sure I'll be giving them a try.

Hello everyone. I was a smoker for 17 years, 1-2 packs of Newports a day. Finally quit for good 3 months ago with Camel SNUS, until I found out about REAL snus. Now I'm a snusaholic! Then one day while sifting through a few snus forums I was reading about nasal snuff and thought that sounded good. Ordered me some from nicotinerush and a buddy from snuscentral set me a bunch also. Tried it out for a bit but wasn't sure I liked it too much, was kinda hard for me to take. Sent all I had to another buddy from snuscentral (some flavors that I just didn't like to begin with, glad he liked them), and then not having any snuff for a week I felt like something was missing. So I ordered more, lol. Been lurking here looking for info for different types of snuff to buy. And now, here I am. =)

    Hullo all,

I've been member here for almost three years, but have only posted few times. Now after a few years hiatus in snuff taking my intrest has been rekindled, I thought I'd say hullo again. So – Hullo!

I recieved a ten tin package from Toque and my nose has been very busy ever since. Whiskey & Honey, Berwick Brown and Spanish Gem have been my favorites for now. Also ordered the whole line of De Kralingse from Jaap. Can't wait!

I'm a pipe smoker and find that snuff complements it well. Also, snuff helps me to fight off those rare cig cravings.

    Cheers!

    Hello All!
My name is Bart. I'm from Los Angeles, CA. It has been a pleasure reading the discussions on here- now I'm looking forward to taking part. Is anyone in the LA area? Is there a local tobacconist who sells snuff? I'm currently purchasing online, which is fine, but I enjoy human interaction on occasion. ;)
    Any ideas?
