The names Paul "Tubbs" Walker, and I live in North Nottinghamshire, Great Britain. I've been a snuff taker since being 18 years of age, and have now just turned 37. Having tried a varied range of scents, etc., I landed on my favourite a few years ago now, and, as far as I am aware, I am the only person that a certain Snuff House blends this for... However, I've been told that they will only be able to make up another five or six batches of this for me until the stop it comletely... So, off I'll go to find another when this time comes...
A bit more about myself. I work in the dairy industry and am presently an ordinand, training for the priesthood. Avid reader, poet and journal keeper. Anyway, glad to find this site and look forward to exploring fully, as time allows.
Welcome all, this is a great site. The discussions can be very robust at times and there are a lot of really knowledgeble folks here, I thought I knew about snuff until I 'met' Troutstroker!!
Bob - Samual Gawith did one called wallflower thats camphor, also Wilsons did one called camphor and mild- i lookled it up on an old list so dont know if they still do them though

Yes, that's the next thing I want to try. I've had a knock off that was available in the US made with petite wormwood and of course Pernod but I've never had the real stuff. Apparently there is one now available in the US that's made with grand wormwood as well as one above me, in Canada, that sounds obtainable. I've done enough research to realize and avoid the Czech stuff.
@ proboscis: You may want to have a look at Absinth-Guide.de Forum. Most of us speak English. "The real thing" simply means a good recipe, thus a good taste. There is nothing with psychodelic trips, that's just marketing.
Thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Steve, and I live in Hampshire, UK. I've been a snuff taker on and off for years. I made the decision to come back to snuff taking after using Swedish snus for a few months, and being horrified to find that I was spending more money on snus than I ever did on rolling tobacco when I smoked! So, I'm back on the snuff exclusively now and finding that I can sample lots of snuffs without breaking the bank. In common with snus, I feel that snuff presents only a very small risk of health problems compared to smoking.
Professionally, I am a scientist, and in my spare time enjoy amateur radio and playing Irish traditional music.
Yes, at least that seems to be the consensus here. It seems that it's not made in a historical manner to the stuff of yore. Of course I've never had any of it so I can't say if it's junk or not but I think I'll try the one from Canada or one of those now available in the U.S. when I do try it.
Details from my 'first post' are here, to save repetition and for anyone who may be interested in seeing my 'naughty shed'... LOL!
I second (and third) some of the comments on here already - SnuffHouse is a fantastic resource, there's plenty of great snuff info to be found here. It's good to be around others who share the same interests and snuff taking hobby!
I'm Paul from the UK. I have been lurking for a few months, Nosebag told me to join :)
I first took snuff a couple of years ago but it didn't really take. I found a couple of old tins in December. Within a couple of months an 8 year cigarette habit had disappeared and I have a draw full of about 50 different snuffs.
My current don't leave home without snuffs are Tom Buck (all time favourite), Toque chocolate and the McChrystals hoppy one.
I have literally just joined up so thought I'd introduce myself
I live in Surrey, England. I'm 26 years old and have been using snuff for about 6 months. I started using it last year but had a bit of a lapse until recently (overdid it on one night out and regretted ever taking it so didn't look at it again until fairly recently!) I buy my snuff online. There is another forum I am a member of but its pretty 'dead' so wanted to find a more active one. I have never really been a smoker but read about snuff in an article and fancied trying it...I liked it so decided to stick with it!
As I am very new to snuff taking I have only been snuffing McChrystals and am quite fond of mentholated snuffs although my latest purchase is lemon flavoured (haven't tried it yet) I look forward to contributing to this forum in the future.
Hi, Paul/25 from Sedona, Arizona. Heavy smoker...been snuffing for only 3 days. Did a lot of research on this website. I decided to order Ozona President, Railroad Mills Plain, Wilsons Royal George, and Extra Strong Taxi Red. Thanks for all the reviews, very helpful. Look forward to contributing. Well, Enough is Enough, Time to Snuff!!!!
I am from Las Vegas, Nevada and have been a cigarette smoker for, mmm, about 25 years! Finally am tired of it all as even in Sin City smokers are considered toooooo sinful apparently.
Thus, been looking at snuff as an alternative. Bought some small tin of President snuff at a local smokeshop. Which by the way was hard to find. I think I will like this new alternative to cigarettes, and have thus ordered some goods from Toque.com. Hopefully will get here soon!
Doubt I will be able or even want to cut out smokes entirely immediately. But it will be the eventual goal! Glad to have found this forum!!!
Just wanted to add, that when I called various smokeshops around my area and asked what brands of nasal snuff they sold the response I got was unexpected. Pretty much "what?" nasal snuff, what brands you carry? "we don't, *click*"
Wonder if I was using some code unbeknownst to me for something illegal? haha
I enjoy Toque Snuffs and handmade snuffs... I take only a few grams of snuff each day and take a break on the weekends. When I do order my snuffs I buy Toque Peanut Butter and Natural. Before snuff I was a lover of Levi Garrett chewing tobacco and Copenhagen snuff (moist lip tobacco).
Sorry, I read more than I post, but I do catch up every once in a while.
