It's nice to try new flavours and so on, but I think I'd get sick of using a flavoured snuff all the time. I think that using mentholated snuff every 10 mins during the day would drive me insane! I smoke cigarettes, and while I'll occasionally buy some flavoured handrolling tobacco, I wouldn't want every cigarette I smoke to taste of cherry or vanilla.
I still have a lot to try, but I certainly seem to be gravitating towards the plain unscented snuffs for frequent use.
Do others share this opinion and have a 'standard' everyday snuff? Is there one snuff that you always keep going back to, despite the fact that there is such a huge variety available?
Well I have a few that I come back to. No matter what other snuffs I have, there are some that I have at least a pinch or two from everyday. Levi Garrett, Stoker's Plain, Toque Espresso and Spanish Jewel.
Personaly I like to rotate my snuff stock alot. And try to keep a variety of diffrent types around and usaly of the six or so I have at a time I tend to go through them about the same rate. When I over use a snuff I find that I don't really take in the scent so much as just the nic hit which almost defeats useing snuff as my main tobaco. Though sometimes I really get into one snuff and use that almost exclusivily for a few days (royal George and dutch windmills peppermint have both been like that for me).
i am like you doc. flavors and menthol i just cant do all the time. i do have fallback snuffs. before, it was mccrystals s'nuff. recently though i discovered toque natural, and have most certainly labeled it my fallback.
I use Toque Chocolate, Toque Natural and Spanish Jewel as my main go to snuffs. I fill my little snuff box with about a 2 day supply and when its empty I change up to the next one on the list. Alot of times when I come around to the Chocolate, I will throw some Spanish Jewel in the mix to bump up the nic hit a little. I really enjoy Dholakias Sparrow green as it has a very subtle sweet taste to it that lingers and I like it alot, I just don't use it as much because of the availability. F&T's HDT is a good go to snuff as well and with a vanilla bean thrown in; makes it quite a smooth and enjoyable evening snuff for me.
Tom Buck is my daily all day snuff, when I want to mix it up I lean to Lemon Grove and and Toque Original. If I am looking for something from an entirely different 'family' I dip into the toasty styles like High Dry Toast, Irish High Toast, and W.E. Garrett Scotch Snuff.
Hello everyone. I'm new to snuff and have been really enjoying lurking here for a while. Seeing that my repertoire is still pretty limited, I can't really say I've got a particular fallback, but the one snuff I've been particularly enjoying lately is homemade (unscented) from a 10-year-old (!) white burley my tobacconist has been patiently aging for, well, ten years. It's delicious!
