Not as frequent an occurrence as changing snuffs, but what do you have wishlisted or on order? I'm waiting impatiently for my latest mars order:

    Wilson's
    Vanilla
    Strawberry
    Apricot
    Royal George

    F&T
    Macouba
    Morlaix

    and GH Jockey Club

It's killing me! should be here any minute!

In the snuff department only the Spanish Jewell. :D I do have some pipe tobacco samples that I hope will make their way out to me shortly...

My mars order came the other day which included some Royal George - which is a nice snuff by the way. I am anxious to hear how the Vanilla is.

The UPS man just dropped off a 2 pound tub of Stoker's plain today.
Interestingly enough here's an email I got just now, too bad it was minutes after seeing the ups guy or I'd have given him a copy.

The UPS man.. One Monday morning the UPS man is driving the
neighborhood on his usual route. As he approaches one of the
homes he noticed that both cars were still in the driveway. His
wonder was cut short by Bob, the homeowner, coming out with a load of
empty beer and liquor bottles. 'Wow Bob, looks like you guys
had one hell of a party last night,' the UPS man comments. Bob,
in obvious pain, replies 'Actually we had it Saturday night. This is the
first I have felt like moving since 4:00 am Sunday morning. We had about
fifteen couples from around the neighborhood over for some weekend fun
and it got a bit wild. We all got so drunk around midnight that we started
playing WHO AM I.' The UPS man thinks a moment and says, 'How
do you play WHO AM I?' 'Well, all the guys go in the bedroom
and we come out one at a time with a sheet covering us, with only our
'privates' showing through a hole in the sheet. Then the women try to
guess who it is.' The UPS man laughs and says, 'Sounds like
fun. I'm sorry I missed that.' 'Probably a good thing you did,'
Bob responded.. 'Your name came up seven times.......'

I ordered some Toque on the 16th of Jan. Waiting for that to come in. Of course, I have no illusions about lightning fast shipping considering that I live on a remote Alaskan island only accessible by air or by sea.

Even allowing for TheLong living on an Alaskan island, I still would have thought it would have arrived by now.
I don't know who is more frustrated by the irregularities of our postal system, me or my customers. I suspect it might have something to do with having a customs declaration stating that the contents are tobacco and the fact that we have to put our name and address on the front of the packet, stating that we are a tobacco company. I’m sure other companies don’t suffer such high numbers of deliveries going missing.
At least the customer benefits in the long run as we always hugely increase the repeat delivery to make up for the wait.

agreed roderick. all of my orders have been opened and inspected by customs. I'm not sure how long that usually takes but i'm guessing it adds a few days onto the journey here. And considering he more hands it passes through the more likelihood of it going missing, it is frustrating. It must be annoying if all ur business is by post. Because there is only so much u can do to ensure prompt service. You still do extremely well with service though roderick

    TheLong,
Glad to see your order arrived that only took 16 days and they have that Alaskan, island for an excuse but another order we shipped on the 19th to Indiana has also just turned up today, 11 days and no excuses.
I wonder if it's that UK Royal Mail is slow in flying it across the pond (pigeon power) or whether it's US mail that's slow on the other side?

    Roderick,

I'd say the US Mail. A package I sent to deficiency in Indiana took about 12 days and it was sent Priority Mail and should have been there in 5 max. I sent TS a package at least 2 weeks ago regular mail that hasn't arrived yet. Lots of snow and bad weather this time of year, though. I'm sure that holds everything up.

I think as far as US Mail goes it may be even more of a local problem than anything.

I've sent and recieved things numerous times and the service has always been extremely quick arriving. Same thing with my wife who orders and sells crap on E-bay like crazy.

Maybe Chicagoland has a more efficient postal service going right now, because I often hear many complaints about US Mail shipping time, but for me it has been quicker than expected about 90% of the time.

I swear, I don't work for the US Postal Service, lol...After having read my post it almost sounds like I have some man-love going on with the USPS.

You might have something there Poo-Diddy. Every time I ship to Chicago, Boston or New York it arrives in approximately 5 days. The only spanner in this theory is it always gets to Troutstroker really quickly and don’t you live in a remote area Troutstroker ?

I usually get anything here in Indiana within 3-4 days of it being shipped priority, ordered from mars thursday, shipped friday, received monday.

Don't know about from across the pond.

Excellent service from mars on any orders, definitely. I haven't had the opportunity to order anywhere else, Tobacco wise, but anything I get off e-bay and , or from friends, always takes 3-4 postal working days, from shipping date.

I just heard something on the AM radio yesterday saying that Chicago was one of, if not, the worst cities in the US for USPS delivery times. The report went on to say that, in the past couple of years, USPS has made the most improvements here. I only have problems with delivery times when customs gets involved. Even then it's usually not too bad.

I just got my mars order. I ordered Tuesday at about 10:30, and it got here on Saturday. Came with a sample of Taxi Red. It doesn't have a smell at all to me, no ammonia either.

The only problem with getting a sample of taxi red is that, if you're like me, you'll really enjoy it and then not be able to order more from mars.

@Roderick, I do live in a remote area. But what helps is that all the mail coming from you lands on the East Coast for distribution then its flown directly to Sacramento. My post office is only 1 1/2 hours from Sacramento. So there is not many stops on its way here. I'm usually pretty impressed with the USPS. Everything I send usually gets to where its going faster than I expect it to. I have been expecting a package from omegapd for a while now but I suspect bad weather over the central & eastern US is to blame. But the big problem right now is for the last couple weeks there has been pretty bad weather all over the country. Like right now its snowing here. There is even an amtrak train stuck in heavy snow on one of the passes right now not to far from here. Its been there since yesterday with about 200 people on it. And we got another big storm moving in right now.

The us. post is pretty erratic sometimes. I was haveing tons of problems with my mail taking forever and other problems for a while I have a new guy on the route now and it seems packages get here a lot faster. Also since I've got the new post man I've not been getting mail for other people.

Yep, the mail is pretty erratic at times. In my case it's both a product of location as well as weather. Everything has to go way up here in the first place and then it has to land in Anchorage and then head to the smaller islands and other places is AK. Given the process you have multiple aircraft landings in multiple airports which frequently experience feet of snow and below 0 temps. Like I said before, my island is only accessible by air and by sea. We have no road off the island. I don't think I've gotten anything sooner than 8 days after it was sent.

even out in the boondocks where I am I can count on priority mail in three days from pretty much anywhere... occasionally 4. My Toque samples arrived yesterday - I requested the Toque Toffee and the Toque Natural. Both really nice snuffs, the Toffee is exactly how I imagined it would be. Good forward tobacco notes with a deliciously sweet and malty toffee finish. The after blow reminds me of a Skor bar (remember those?). I may try to blend a touch of this with the Toque Chocolate just for fun, try to see if I can get the full on Skor experience lol. Great Snuff!

The Toque Natural is a great all tobacco snuff, the grind is perfect, the nose feel is great, and while I am at a loss of descriptors I can't say a bad thing about it. I wouldn't change a thing. It seems like a perfect blend of several tobaccos that come together cohesively and naturally to make this quality snuff!

Thanks for the samples Rodrick, Top notch product you have going.

I used to work for Royal Mail, in an admin capacity thank god, and it'll probably be the sorters at this end. No offence if anybody is one, but I've never met anybody who works in Sheffield sorting office who is actually sober. I can't blame them it is a hell hole and half.

lofat, funny you mention SKOR bar. Thats a connection I made in my review of Toque Toffee. But the connection to me is in the scent you get in your nose as you are chewing the candy bar. I think I must have reached your subconscious mind & used power of suggestion on you! LOL
