Missing out on a good one not getting the peanut butter though, that turned out to be one of my favorites.

Just got this order in from nicotinerush. I ordered on Friday, so very quick service. I've never tried any of them before, so needless to say, I'm pretty excited!
    1 x McChrystals Hops 8.75g
    1 x Dean Swift Bezoar 1/6 oz
    1 x Dholakia Sparrow Cool 10g
    1 x McChrystals Original 8.75g
    1 x Honey Bee Sweet 1.15 oz
    1 x Square Plain Snuff 1.15 oz
    1 x Strawberry Sweet 1.15 oz
    1 x Peach Sweet Snuff 1.15 oz
    1 x Rooster Scotch Snuff 1.15 oz
Plus a free sample of Garrett sweet.
So far I've only tried the rooster. WOW! Thanks to this forum, I knew to be careful. I put a few crumbs on the tip of my finger and barely inhaled. Great flavor and very strong.
    Thanks Tom

A roll of snus. Although my two tins I ordered a few days earlier are still being waited on. Strange how that works.

Along with a few others, I just got a tin of McChrystal's SP from Snuff Store. It's similar to the Wilson's Best SP in grind and colour, as one might expect, and the flavour isn't far from that either. I'm fairly sure the base tobacco of this one is the same as that for the O&G.

    Definitely worth a try!

After a surprising amount of confusion a flurry of more emails than necessary, I have the following Wilson's tins sailing across the straights:

    (1) Irish High Toast #22 (FarleyFlavors and Ermtony's recommendations)
    (3) S.M. 500 (my favorite eye-opener, can't have enough of this on hand!)
    (2) S.M. Blue (per Bob's & others recommendations)
    (1) Camphor & Mild (per Snuff Head and Bob's recommendation)
    (2) Super Menthol (sounded good from the website description)

    Thanks guys!

    Anybody tried the Super Menthol?

I'll probably order some more Toque as holiday gifts this week as well.

    Merry X-Mas!

The girl friend was getting a head start on some purchasing Christmas presents and she decided to get some snuff for my stocking. She had no idea where to start though so the surprise was ruined by asking me how to go about it. In the end since I'd been raving about my first taste of American snuffs she picked out,
    Tops Sweet Snuff
    Society Sweet Snuff
    As well as,
    QWS Irish Coffee
    Dean Swift Clove Sp

Good choices, the Dean Swift SP is one of the few Dean Swift snuffs I can stand. Its not bad.

@Lanark ...maybe the glass is half-full, and though the surprise 'ruined', the experienced was enhanced by sharing, and her taking an interest. Maybe that's what you meant. :)

@ RobMe: Absolutely! I only meant that she had been trying to do it secretly and it was not working too well so she had to let me in on the secret. Actually she has tried my snuff. The first time she had some Toque (forget what kind, but not toasted one) and said it gave her a headache. She said that she would never try it again, but last night, without any suggestion on my part, she took a pinch of Dholakia Swiss Chocolate because the scent is so tempting.
@ Troutstroker: Interesting about the Dean Swift. I have not read much about it. I would have liked McChrystal’s clove but it was not in stock.

Just put in a Toque order for me and a few small gifts for a friend of mine. Peanut Butter, Grapefruit, W&H, Pomegranate!
  3.  # 435
Put in another order (yes, I have a problem, ok, deal with it!), this was a big one.
1# Wilsons Tom Buck - This is pretty much my every-day snuff now, so decided to take the plunge.
    F&T - High Dry Toast (2 oz)
    F&T - Morocco (1oz)
F&T - Old Paris (1 oz) - The "date" aroma has my interest piqued, I used to love fresh and dried dates as a child.
McChrystal's SP (21g) - trying out yet another SP, man I dig the SPs from most producers, except Dean Swift, that stuff is ass.
    Wilsons Strasbourg (25g)
Wilsons Royal George (25g) - Just trying out a couple more varieties... why 25g... because I'm insane...
Toque - Whiskey & Honey (25g) - I heard too much good stuf about this one not to include it in the order.
Toque - St Clements (25g) - dig the citrus.
Toque - Christmas Pudding (10g) - Thought I'd give it a try for the holidays, and I want one of the 10g toque tins, I like the screw-cap and think I'd dig the smaller size.

Some good ones there. HDT is outstanding. Interested to hear what you think of the other two. I have a tin of OP but it's a little dead, I don't get much scent from it. It has nice nose feel, however. The arrak I know is made from anise and it's a ringer for Ouzo, so I'm always surprised when people say it's made from dates.

Toque's W&H is a classic toast with 2 different flavors, first the single malt and then a chocolate afterblow, at least for me.

If you like SPs the Wilsons Irish D.H. Toast #20 is a must try. It's a moister, more flavorful version of their Best SP. It's alot smoother as well.
  4.  # 437
Well this will probably be my last order for a few months, I'll have to put the #20 on the next list... I'm actually not a fan of overly moist snuffs, they tend to clog up the works a bit and I've got some pretty good control (nothing like going through a half a can of Honest Scotch to teach one control...

I like toasts but I also like moist snuffs. Don't seem to like the snuff in the middle, go figure!
  5.  # 439
Ah, I like the general moisture level of Toque and Wilson's offerings, MyChrystal's O&G is a bit too "wet" for me, and the Dholakia and thier QWS branded versions tend to be a bit moist for me.

I can handle a range of moisture content but prefer those on the dry side... with the moister stuff I tend to take Huge hits as well as they tend to have less "burn" and I likes a little burn... hurt me snuff, hurt me!

Tomorrow I'll be sending my check for 1/2 a kilo of McChrystal's Clove. They're also sending me a free tin while I wait for the check to clear, and the snuff to be delivered. I was very pleased with the customer service from them.

"The arrak I know is made from anise and it's a ringer for Ouzo"

The arrack in Old Paris is made from fermented dates I think, not aniseed.

Yes, The Sheffield Exchange lists the Arrack flavor in Old Paris is from fermented and distilled dates.

I have a bottle of arrak in my fridge and I don't know what it's made of, but I can tell you what it's flavored with, and that's anise. It's as harsh as any Ouzo I've ever had. A couple of shots of that will have most people regretting it!

If somebody can buy a bottle of arrak that tastes like dates, I'd like to know where that bottle came from. As far as I have been told and seen, all the arrak from Israel, Yemen, and the Arab countries is all heavily flavored with anise.

I just received a mother lode of snuff! My orders from Toque and Wilsons both arrived on the same day! Life is good!

Being distilled with and flavored with are totally different processes. Dates, being predominately sugar, make for a good fermentable and the resulting liquor would have very little to no date flavor, nor any flavor, when distilled out.

Snuffbox when you say you received an order from Wilsons do you mean directly from the factory? I've been to their website and the only thing I see they sell are the sample gift box. Just placed my first order with Toque on Monday, really looking forward to receiving and trying for the first time.

Hi Jimmy, yes if you have a bit of patience and a good sense of humor you can ring at the mill. They do sell direct to the consumer but you have to work at it a bit. In the end they're good people and make a great product. My order was filled correctly and promptly, absolutely no complaints.

There's a 10 pound minimum including P&P for UK buyers and 20 pound + P&P for those of us outside the Kingdom.

Email Wilsons and ask for their snuff-by-post price list. Make sure they don't charge you VAT if you don't live in the EU. If you're in the UK the prices do include VAT but you get free P&P which is nice.

LOL yeah I don't have a pounds sterling sign on my keyboard! 20 pounds sterling, that's going to be about 10, 1-ounce tins.

You have to pay extra for P&P (packing & postage).

When I picked up my package from Wilsons today it was packed in a plastic wrap over the original envelope with a sign saying "We're sorry, but your package was damaged in transit" blah blah blah from the local postal service. Amazingly, nothing was touched. All the factory tape was in place and only a few of the tins were dented. Not sure what happened, but it was ok in the end.
