Hello all, I have read almost this whole board, defiantly a interesting hobby...
I have been smoking for 17 years, and have been using snuff for only a few days now, in hope to cut the cigarettes out of my life,.

My question is, after snuffing, do you wait a few minutes and then blow your nose?
I ask this because I just don't see the sense in the snuff sitting in my nose if after a few minutes I have gotten the effect that I will get from the snuff.

Would it make sense to go ahead and blow my nose like 5 minutes after use? rather than waiting, or do you only blow your nose when you get discharge??

I have been waiting and blowing my nose after several pinches, and thats a bit to long to me, I appreciate you guys help.....

Welcome to the forum tattooer1. For me it depends on which snuff I am using. when taking some snuffs, I blow my nose sometimes after only 1 minute. Other snuffs I dont blow my nose at all.

In the world of snuff this is a very subjective question. My advice woould be, if you feel something running out of your nose. Grab a tissue and blow it out.

If nothing is running and your nose feels comfortable. Leave it alone.

So basically, and I know this is probably not the concrete answer you were looking for. Blow when your nose is uncomfortable and you feel you have to.

First welcome to the forum. I generally will only blow the nose when I get a little build up, starts to run or the scent fades, whichever comes first. Or if I'm switching snuffs. But you can do it whenever you feel your ready. Kind of depends on how much you take each time and of what kind you are using. Some snuffs are very runny on the nose and make you feel like you have to blow pretty quickly & some you won't get any feeling of having to blow for a while. If I'm using a nose friendly snuff & I'm going at my normal pace & quantity, I'll only blow the proboscis on average about every 30-45 minutes sometimes sooner & sometimes a lot longer. And thats at the rate of taking a snuff every 10-20 minutes. But with a runny snuff, I might blow the nose 5-10 minutes after snuffing.

Hello and thanks for the warm welcome....
I would like to hear everyones opinion on this subject, seeing that everyone is different.

I take a sniff every 20 min. or so after probably 2 sniffs I feel the need to blow my nose.
If I blow my nose 5 minutes after snuffing, will I be wasting the snuff, or lessening its effect??
This was my concern that I was doing it for nothing....sorry for all the questions I am new to this....

First off welcome to the forum.

Now about your question, some snuffs I do not blow my nose at all from, for example McChrystal's OG, Wilson's Tom Buck and many other "dry" consistency snuffs. Some snuffs, usually moister varieties such as DeKralingse Latakia 1860 or F&T's Santo Domingo I need to clear out a few minutes after taking some. There are also some "grey area" kind of snuffs that just make my nose run soon after taking (these usually vary from person to person) such as Wilson's SM 500 for me. There really is no right or wrong way or time limit to blowing, if your nose feels runny or clogged blow. I do not believe that you are wasting or lessening the effect if you blow your nose after only a couple of minutes. Usually the scent still lingers after blowing, the nicotene is usually absorbed very shortly after inhaling. Just keep at it, you will find the time that just feels right for you eventually. With snuff as affordable as it is, do not worry much about making beginner mistakes. Learn from trial and error.

Feel free to ask any and all questions here, there are allot of extremely knowledgable and helpfull people on this site.

Thanks again for all the help,
I am new to the snuff thing, but do enjoy it, I get a bit more of a rush from it than from Cigarette smoking.
I use Garwiths Cola (faavorite as of now), Dutch Windal Lakita, Bensnoke <sp> Gin & Tonic....the last one lights me up a bit....
I have Rooster but am kinda afraid of the burn since the gin and tonic was really harsh........thanks again......
