Does anyone know if Count Murari Snuff is still being manufactured and if so where I can buy it? I think it was made in Northern Italy.

Well first, welcome to the forum blackoak. Sorry, don't know of Count Murari. I do know of sant'Antonino which is made in Italy.

There was a discussion of this snuff on the Yahoo group a couple of years ago. They stopped making it the mid-80's. I remember seeing this snuff in a Tinder Box store in the late 70's, but couldn't afford to try it at $10.00 a bottle. That's about $40.00 in today's money.

I found this on the Yahoo Group. The bootle looks like Bernad's to me. Pretty cool.

I worked for Tinder Box back in the early 90's, and we had an exclusive distribution arrangement with Count Murari (actual guy, not a company fiction). He lived in Switzerland. It was a lovely snuff.

The recipie for the snuff was a family secret, and was lost when Count Murari died suddenly of a heart attack, in 91 or 92, if I remember correctly. So, whatever is out there is old, and there will be no more.
