I can't smoke at work, and I have a sinus infection, so while I usually snuff my way through the day, I needed something that doesn't go up my nose.
The local 7/11 didn't have snus, so I bought a can of skoal long cut cherry.
I put a smallish (for snus) sized pinch under my upper lip as if I was taking snus, and less than a minute later, I got an enormous nic hit and felt like I was going to vomit or pass out or both.
I felt slightly queasy for an hour afterwards.
I am certain that I swallowed no juice, as I put it under my upper lip like snus.
What happened? Is chewing tobacco just exceptionally strong?
Snus has never come close to doing this to me...

Agree LikeIn fact, although it is cherry flavor, I couldn't taste anything because it was under my upper lip.
I guess it's just bloody strong stuff and I should use a much smaller pinch.
I had read that you're supposed to use a quarter-sized amount, so I thought I was playing it safe!

Agree LikeI can't believe how potent this stuff is. Those people who do horseshoes must have an enormous tolerance to nicotine.
@snuffster, I just reread your first reply, what did you mean by 'or get some antibiotics?'

Agree LikeWell the dip isn't stronger but it aborbs faster. That's my take on it. Snus is pretty slow on the uptake as far as nicotine absorbtion goes.

Agree LikeSounds to me like just an odd occurance, your tolerance was down for some odd reason and idk, it slammed you. Skoal does not have as high nic level as cope or griz. I find that when you do any type of tobacco that you have not done in a long time, you get a stronger hit, which is why every so often i get a tin and take a break fromsnuff for a week.
