I wrote about nose gargle in my snuff wiki. http://www32.atwiki.jp/madoqa/pages/73.html Can you understand about nose gargle from my poor English sentences?
* Because chlorine stimulates the nasal mucosa, it is necessary to use the water
of boiled water.
Boild water = distilled water, or more realisticly just dechlorinated water. (distilled is reduced to steam, then the steam is condensed and collected without any impurities)
*Because chlorine stimulates the nasal mucosa, it is necessary to use distilled or dechlorinated water.
pouring in the nose little by little, and throwing the snuff in the interior of the nostril and it does because the mucous membrane of the nose is hurt if the nose is gargled with tap water.
I'm not sure what you are saying in this sentance, otherwise I would help with english.? mabey: Insuffilating chlorinated tap water through the nasal cavity damages the mucous membrane when trying perform a nose gargle. ---- ? I'm not even sure if insufilate would be the proper english term.
Basically plain tap water irritates the nose. The water must be mixed with salt into a saline solution. And the use of cold water is not suggested. You want warm salty water.
Troutstroker, we use a whole house water filtration system where the water enters the house, so I guess that's why I don't experience any irritation when doing the "nose gargle"...
I'm on well water which is excellent drinking water but its also full on minerals which makes it pretty hard. I occasionally use it plain up the proboscis but prefer the saline solution.
I picked up a neti pot after seeing it on here then in the store and I must say I LOVE IT! Keeps my nose from getting dry and stuffy all day, makes my snuff experience just that much more enjoyable. I find it easier the using a saline spray all day.
