INTRODUCTION: This is a revised and updated list of snuffs. For Alex's orginal list please click HERE

This list will not include every obscure or historical snuff. It will however list all those that are readily available from various sources, including those that are discontinued and especially those recently discontinued. Many discontinued snuffs still surface from time to time, either as old stock in shops or from online auctions and many of us still have some of these in our collections. These will often come up for discussion on the forum, so we include them here. Do not distress yourself over discontinued snuffs, as manufacturers are releasing new ones quite frequently and the last few years have especially seen the restoration of many formerly discontinued recipes. Discontinued snuffs will be indicated by italics.

This list will also seek to include as many known rare snuffs which can be proved to exist, or those which may be difficult or expensive to get to the vast majority of our readers. These are often exclusives to certain areas or shops. Notes will indicate what we know (or speculate) about their origins. Links will be provided where available. The list will not include home made snuffs or amateur products. Niether will it include limited time release or market test snuffs.

Note:both companies own shares in each other, but Swedish Match is by far the larger of the two. Arnold André technically owns the brand names of most of these snuffs, and the primary market is Germany along with some other areas of Europe, however the actual manufacture/distribution of snuff seems to lie with Swedish Match. Some of the manufacturing has been, and may still be contracted to Imperial Tobacco. The manufacture is done in South Africa. Abraxas Premium Batch Snuff. Coarse ground luxury English snuff made by Nigel McCarren (AKA Snuffster). Thought to be the most expensive snuff ever sold. Abraxas Snuff is currently exclusive to Mr Snuff. Abraxas has deep complexity of taste and a silky, sweet almost intoxicating flavour with spice, chocolate, coffee, berries, log fires and manure all reported as making up the Abraxas flavour. Manufactured as a special order item for Mr Snuff, around once or twice a year in small batches.

Abraxas Club. Another coarse, moist snuff with a complex, dark character similar to Abraxas Original but with dominant notes of chocolate, citrus and vanilla. As with the original, the base snuff is dark and redolent of coffee and fine liquors. Club is dedicated to the membership of Snuffhouse, past and present.

Abraxas Connoisseur Cerise is the first 'private label' snuff and is made solely for Mr Snuff. Cerise is a rich and heady snuff with a dominant cherry flavour. Cerise is very moist and should be aired until the required moisture level is attained. Best used at slightly above room temperature and so ideal for carrying in a pocket snuff box.

Abraxas Dragun - a spiced, strong, high nicotine snuff. Dragun has a fiery chilli after-burn and contains various 'eastern' spices and flavours. Sold in 25g tins from Mr Snuff from May 2012.

A possible fifth Abraxas and one that will be released in just a handful of 'Blenders Own' presentation sets, Abraxas Fleur de Snuff may come out, depending on which way the leprechaun points, around Christmas 2012.
