We have all been mix matching blends to cross flavor our snuffs, and have been going lengths to obtain that special oil/essence to delight our lovely snuff's with, and now something very simple to do which I have done with great success, now hold on don't get to crazy......1 inch, 1 smash-box (or similar small containing device), and your favorite toasted tobacco(I used F&T's HDT). oh yea the 1 inch thing.... none other than your local super-markets version of a little bean known as the 'Bourbon Vanilla'. Just cut to tiny pieces and then smash it up(in the smash-box), and add your HDT to it for over-night. When I woke up the next morning to sample the scent, it was over. Smooth, creamy and Toasted tobacco for your enjoyment at almost no additional coast or labor to make. Oh yea.. I tried to fish/sift the broken pod out but for some reason it has all melded with the Tobacco..Courious as to why this happened and if anyone else knows, please explain. I did use the whole pod (not just the little seeds) so I thought I would be able to pick them out.
The oils out of the bean must have had a play in the melding. Sounds like a nice snuff. I have added a whole bean just cracked in half to Wilsons Vanilla before trying to get a stronger vanilla and it worked. Will have to try with a toast or scotch. Or maybe even some Gold Label. The Bourbon Vanilla bean has a great scent that almost makes you hungry.

It also makes me want to smoke-a-bowl.(don't know why) LOL :-)
I usually like straight Va. and/or burley mixes, so I don't know where that comes from.....I had an Uncle who use to smoke aromatics...maybe that's the relationship.
This post reminded me of the other post about playing with scenting I just tried the wintergreen/Levi Garrett Rappee, and it came out pretty nice. The wintergreen goes away and leaves you with the wood smoke smell of the Rappee. It's a little more moist now too, so it doesn't surprise me by going to my throat.
I think I like the idea of putting a real vanilla bean in it better than some kind of oil, even if the oil is safe to eat. Creamy vanilla snuff sounds pretty good, I think i have an ancient vanilla bean around here, do they go bad? I think I bought it about 5 years ago....
deficiency, I don't think it will be good to use anymore, best to just get new to use.(if you really want a nice strong scent, vanilla bean pods hold there scent for quit some time though) I only used about 2 grams of snuff for that 1 inch piece. Next time I will double the amount of snuff and I think I will triple the amount of vanilla.
Yeah I dug around and found it, it's brittle and dry now. I cracked it and it doesn't have any smell left, so grinding it's out too. Have to pick one up the next time I hit the supermarket.
Just an update to item #1 here on this thread; I did finally come across the little pieces of the pod that where left over (I tried to sniff one up when I found it near the end of the container cleverly disguised as snuff). My recommendation's for another batch would have to include only splitting the pod open instead of snipping it and smashing it to little pieces.
