I've noticed you don't tend to see snuff in movies often. I thought it might be cool to make a list of movies which have scenes of people useing snuff.
    The Adventures of Baron Munchausen
    Will start the list.

The most recent adaptation of Les Miserables
    3:10 to Yuma

Spaghetti westerns rock the house down! I remember that one, the guard in the Union prison offers Tuco a pinch, before kicking the tar out of him. That's probably the only movie I can think of too. Searching for snuff on the web as you more than likely know ....
  3.  # 5
Yeah that was angel eyes. Offering a pinch from Bill Carsons snuff box.

I remembered another, It wasn't in the forefront but rather being done in the background thats why it was hard to remember. It was a great film as well:

My Name Is Nobody. actors-Terrence Hill & Henry Fonda

Damn I can't believe I forgot that! I guess I'm going to have to watch it again. My brothers and me used to torture our mom by whistling the theme song anytime she got angry :D

The Skull with Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, & Patrick Wymark; The Scarecrow with Peter Cushing &Patrick Allen; Oliver Twist, the 1930's version, and quite a few movies with James Robertson Justice in them.

TheLong, which version of 3:10 to Yuma did you prefer. The original or the new?

I like the effects in the new one but still preferred the original.

There are loads of British period movies like "The Scarlet Pimpernel" and virtually every Dickens film ever made. What I want to see is a modern director daring to be different and ahead of his time. Now that smoking is banned in film and TV lets have a snuff hero.

Bit of inside gossip, there is a rumour that one of the big tobacco companies has completed a study showing snuff sales possibly reaching 20-25% of tobacco sales in the USA by 2012. Has anyone else heard this and got any evidence? Or is it complete nonsense?
Maybe they mean smokeless generally, which must be close to that anyway.

Haven't heard. Do know if they were talking about moist snuff or dry? Because all the lip tobacco here in the US is called snuff and there are so many new brands coming out and a ton of new flavors for existing brands.

    Troutstroker:

I've never seen the original. Not that I don't want to but our selection on the island is fairly small.

One of my favorite movies also. An earlier scene in the movie is when Tucci? (the ugly) loots the dead bodies in the runaway coach and takes the snuff box from a corpse. He then takes a pinch and is about to sneeze when he realizes the guy "Carson" is still alive and tries to get him to say which grave the money is buried in.

Recently watched My Name is Nobody. Seemed like a typical Saturday afternoon kids movie I remember from the 70's, silly characters, the music, weak acting and all. I never caught a part where anyone was using snuff in the background. Do you remember the scene?

I've never seen the new version of 3:10 to Yuma. In which movie was there snuff?
  11.  # 16
Don't remember exactly, I will have to watch again. It was either in the bar when they were shooting glasses or in the street of the last shootout or the last section where they are in the sea port?

It was near the beginning when they first introduced that bank fellow. The one that ended up going with the posse escort. (Wow, I have no memory for names).

It wasn't a movie & it I didn't see it being used but there was an episode of the Rifleman where Lucas was in the mercantile store and there was a sign that said snuff tobacco was sold there.

I saw an Agatha Christie movie with Ms. Marple where snuff was used as a murder weapon! The movie/book was "Murder Ahoy!". Someone murders a salty old sea captain by putting strychnine in his snuff! total pisser!

I hate it when I get strychnine in my snuff!!

http://www.movieweb.com/video/V07K159ahtLNPY Sorry, you have to wait for the 30 second "Golden Compass" preview to finish.

Here is a link to some snuff usage in the upcoming Tim Burton offering "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street".

    It's brief, but it's there.

Ha, thats great. I've seen the previews for the movie but haven't seen that clip yet! I'm waiting for the new Alien vs. Predator movie coming out on Christmas. (there's an alien predator hybrid now)

This is not a movie, but there was some cartoon snuffing the other night. I was watching The Venture Brothers on Adult Swim on the Cartoon Network. It was the episode called The Incredible Mr. Brisby. I had to rewind it on my DVR to make sure that what I just saw was Dr. Venture really taking a pinch from his snuffbox. He definitely took a quick pinch, guaranteed non snuffers would not have caught it.

"I'm waiting for the new Alien vs. Predator movie coming out on Christmas."

Why?! The first AVP was such a let-down. I'd sooner watch "The Sound of Music" in a room full of gay men than to sit through another AVP. Just pass me the Rainbow Snuff.
  17.  # 27
Thats exactly why I said that. I was comparing it to Johnny Depp singing in a musical type atmosphere in "Sweeney Todd". The last line I wrote in parenthesis was a little sarcasm!!!! About as bad as a 61 year old Sylvester Stallone doing another Rambo!!!!

Call me a Rainbow Snuffer if you will, but I'm actually looking forward to Sweeney Todd. Don't get me wrong guys, I'm not really looking forward to the singing part so much as the Victorian-Era murdering. At least I know one of my testicles still works.

One thing I find funny about supposedly gay things like musicals is how often they will have sexy woman in them. I don't know much about who's in sweeny todd otherwise then Johny depp Though I'am sure there is some fine Victorian-era cleveage in there somewhere.
