Seems like such an odd measure, not an even fraction, not metric, WHY?

    Hey MM
You mean like ROOSTER and other American snuffs. I asked myself the same thing. Probably shouldn't ask the tobacco companies though or soon they will be .15oz. shy of an ounce.

Thats easy! Its so that when you buy a case of 12, you get 13.8 oz.

Its probably for the same reason moist snuff like Copenhagen comes in a 1.2 oz. can. Its just a common size container. Probably taken from the most popular brands a long time ago and the size just became universal so other brands can imitate. Same reason all railroad tracks in the US have a gauge of 4 feet, 8 1/2 inches.

    Did you buy all that?

Do you guys all use the 1.15 cans? They make some brands in a great big can too, maybe a 1/2 pound? Have you tried those, and do they last long enough?

I use mainly the 1.15 oz cans except for a few of my favorites. For those I usually but not always have the thrift size 4.65 oz can that I use to refill the smaller can or a snuff box. Just depends on what I can get a better deal on at the time. On a rare occasion I will get the tumbler size. The 1.15 oz cans last long enough when you compare it everything else. Since most of the online stores only offer the 1.15 can, thats what most use.
