I let my brother borrow the contents of my "sin bin", that's what I call the drawer I keep all my snuff, snus and chew in. So I'm on RR scotch alone. Great anytime snuff, the scotch isn't too powerful, and goes with most anything.

Its great stuff Brian. I know a lot has been said about Toque Chocolate snuff, but i'll throw my tuppence in if nobody minds.

Toque is one of the last majour snuff brands I have tried, one of the reasons being that I am not keen on bullets. Another reason is I was under that false assumption that a modern snuff brand could in no way compete with the traditional brands (F&T etc). I have been very wrong - Toque Chocolate is a fantastic snuff. Its full flavoured and complex. Not the easiest snuff to take in the wold, only a light touch is needed, but once mastered its a joy to sniff. I was expecting a very one dimensional snuff (a problem I find with Willsons of Sharrow snuffs - one big hit of flavour at the beginning and thats your lot). It seems to have a far higher nicotine hit than I was expecting also, which is nice as I like that.

Roderick could re-brand this snuff under a fancy, old sounding name. Sell it in some expensive looking tins which say he has been making it since 1786 and double the price. Its that good! But lets not give him any ideas...

My top 4 favoutrite snuffs have just become 5.

That is what caused me to hesitate too. I figured that other snuff companies have been in business for hundreds of years, so have to create great products to stay in business, and I didn't see how toque could possibly compete with all that experience. Yeah, I was wrong, and I've never been happier to be wrong. I've said it once and I'll say it again, toque snuffs are perfect. They are indeed pretty dry and fine, so do take a little more effort to effectively snuff than say poschl snuffs, but once you get used to them they go in very smooth and are just amazing. I would also agree that the nic content in them seems to be a bit higher than many of the others, which is a good thing for me. They don't quite blow my head off like spanish jewel, but give me a nice buzz in the morning on first sniff.

Got things started with a couple medium pinches of Manjul on the way into the shower! After with some strong black coffee I am now enjoying several large pinches of Brazil Feinst that I have scented with a wiff of tangerine essential oil. Really makes this coffee aroma extra special.

This morning, woke up with a pinch of Levi. And now as I'm watching the snow fall, I'm taking a healthy pinch of Espresso.
  5.  # 74
@ troutstroker-how much snow do you have out there.

    Just been pinching Rooster today.
  6.  # 75
@ onefortheroad, at the house here it really just started snowing this morning @ my elevation of 4200'. But just up the road a few miles they have received over 6 feet of new snow since Thursday. And are expecting over 10 feet of new snow by the time this storm is over. Luckily our power was finally restored this morning.

You can check out the cam @ the local ski resort that is a few miles up the road. Occasionally the lens gets covered but the brush it off a few times a day. Kirkwood Live Cam

This is another ski resort cam, Sugar Bowl Cam

McChrystals Stammheimer Hopfen Schnupf and a Warsteiner . About to watch a PPV movie with the Misses after the little one hits the sack. The weather here in North Georgia has been in the teens at night and low 30's during the day the last few, but tomorrow and Monday are suppose to be back up to high 60's and low 70's again!. Gotta love the South. :-)

Yeah Mo, this weather has been crazy, I live in SE North Carolina and have been wearing shorts all day. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice. And keeping with the thread title, I took a pinch of some taxi red...I grabbed the wrong one...the one I have not yet aired out to remove the ammonia...now my nose is full of at least 6 different snuffs to try to get rid of the taxi smell of wet dog and feet...may take a few more cause that stink has some staying power.

LOL, I've read nothing but Cat Pee, Wet Dogs, Stinky Feet as descriptions of the Taxi. Why is it that I just orderd the entire Taxi line. I guess it is human nature to see for yourself when something is described as so horrid, lmao....

BTW, nose full of RedBull right now.....
  11.  # 83
Well, a non chewer or new chewer who smells Copenhagen says the same thing. I remember as a young teen when I had first smelled it, I thought it was absolutely horrid. But as I got into using moist snuff (lip tobacco), the scent of copenhagen started to grow on me. And as I moved up in the moist snuff levels & started using copenhagen, I started to really love the smell and would actually hold the can under my nose to take a big whiff before I took a dip. Nothing else smelled as good as it did now. If it was a finer cut I would probably snuff it.

Nose full of Snus Ice!! Goes well with snow.

Actually Poo-Diddy, the Taxi red is not that bad after you leave the container open for a few hours to get rid of that obnoxious smell. I just opened the wrong smash box. I had one that I already dried out a bit that is pretty good. In my nose at the moment is some GH Kendall Brown. I am all over the place with snuff today. I've had sniffs from almost half of my collection today. I woke up this morning grabbed my can of Square and told my wife..."This is going to be a good snuff day". And it has been.

copie as it is called around here smells great in a kind of cat pee way. That was my chew untill I discovered snus. I don't think likeing the smell of copenhagen is much diffrent then people likeing the smell of cigars.

Tonight I started off with a mixture I made of Toque Espresso,Chocolate, Conwood's Red Seal and Wilson's Vanilla. It came out excellent. Tastes like a cinnamon coffee cake with a fabulous tin aroma. I'm going to have to make up a bunch of this stuff...

Roderick, as a tobacco blender, I'm curious as to how you feel about people "re-blending" your creations? I know before I really got into snuff, some of the more arrogant pipe tobacco blenders (Greg Pease) used to hate their creations being altered...

@ Troutstroker - A few years ago I had my American adventure. I spent 6 months driving from the East Coast to the West Coast and back again. We covered a lot of ground. Thats some nice land your living in!

Oh and to keep on-topic - Toque Chocolate again this morning. Though going to have a fresh blast of O&G when I have finished my breakfast.

    Omegapad,
Thanks for asking, speaking for myself I would encourage it, as I love to hear what blends customers can come up with. My favorite is the one a customer in Australia came up with. He’d left his snuff on the dashboard of his car over the weekend and it was completely dried out. He mixed a couple of drops of amaretto (an Italian liqueur) with Toque Chocolate and Espresso and came up with Tiramisu (a wonderful Italian dessert). Being a bit sceptical I tried this myself and he’s right, it’s very good.
This year we will be introducing more flavours and hope to produce a chart rather like “Jelly beans” showing that combing snuffs can produce even more exciting flavours. If you or anyone else has any combination flavour suggestions I’d love to hear them.

@ Mopey, It is a beautiful area. I wouldn't really want to live anywhere else. Unless maybe living inside Yellowstone National Park, except for the fact that it is sitting on one of the largest volcanoes on earth.

6 months????? Thats a long time to be traveling. You must have seen everything there was to see. Where all did you go in California? I hope it wasn't in a small car with kids fighting in the back seat!! LOL.

Finishing off the night with a homemade blend, Baked Apple Snuff.

@Troutstroker - Its a bit of a long story. I met an American girl while I was traveling in Israel. We decided to travel America together. It was all very Kerouac inspired. In California we started at the bottom, San Diego and worked our way up as far as Lake Tahoe an then across into Nevada. Once of the weirdest trips I ever did in America was getting on a train in the middle of winter in New York then stepping off the train in to sweltering heat 36 hours later in Miami! Its hard to fathom the size of your country (especially coming from a small country like England) until you do something like that. Had a great time over there though. Maybe some day i'll go back!

That baked apple snuff sounds interesting. You make that yourself?

Ok, I think i'll have a pinch of a mix I made last night - 1 part Pompadour, 4 parts chocolate, and 1 part Hedges menthol. Its a great mix!
