Most of the snuff comes in pretty well sealed containers so not a whole lot is need to be done except to make sure you seal it back up when done. The biggest thing is to keep them stored where they won't fluctuate through dramatic temperatures. Don't store them in a hot room or car or in the bathroom with all the shower steam. I keep mine stored in stoneware kitchen canisters with hinged top latch clasp. These are the exact same ones I have Kitchen Canisters. I received them as a gift. They have a rubber gasket to seal them when latched. You can store them in mason canning jars, the small 6-pack igloo coolers, the bigger size hard plastic water bottles with the big screw on lid like the kind you would take hiking, you can keep them in the fridge, in ziploc bags or just on a shelf out of the sun and away from heat sources.
Welcome to the forum, Storing is an important question. Troutstrokers jars are about the best you can do without going to the expense of buying a humidor. If you use the jars with English snuff add a damp sponge to the jar, making sure you don’t let the sponge come in direct contact with your snuff i.e. put a layer of cedar or thin wood in between. A RYO cigarette tin with 20 little wholes punched in the lid and a bit of sponge cut to fit is ideal. I hope to offer the worlds first dedicated snuff humidors in the next month. So watch for them coming on the specials page at toquesnuff.com or toquetobacco.com Roderick
