The new Arnold Andre Rumney's Export looks a lot like the old version, but the 6.5 gram container seems lighter in color than the old one, and I understood the Export to be manufactured by Swedish Match. Any idea whether the Arnold Andre version is the same or similar to the old Swedish Match version?

I thought Arnold Andre were owned by Swedish Match. I might be thinking of another company, though.

Arnold Andre is owned by SM.

My Grandfather used to use this snuff when he visited us in Germany back in the 80's. I have about 5 tins on hand to honor him.

Swedish match sold their tobacco company in south africa. That s the reason the Singleton“s snuffs are
completely different now. I haven t tried the new Rumney's Export yet, don t know if they have changed the
    recipe..

I just read Arnold Andre's website. There is almost no mention of snuff. The only pertinant info to us is that Swedish Match owns a 40% share of the company, and that Arnold Andre bought Singleton's snuff from Swedish Match in 2001. I presume that's when they got Tucky and the other former English ones as well.

From what I'm piecing together mentally, the Illingsworth were bought out by Imperial, and Imperial has some relationship with Swedish Match (not clear on this bit) SM then sold those snuffs to their partner company Arnold Andre.
At some point during all this, the ones in South Africa with duplicate names sprang up. I'm also not clear on this relationship.

    Its very messy.
