Thanks Fisch! It is one of the "mystery color" ones directly off the Icetool website, I'm cheap enough to risk getting a pink/blue icetool to save a couple bucks, plus free shipping. The post office kindly shipped it back to Finland for me when it arrived because I accidently typed my neighbor's address in the shipping...I've been waiting a month for the damn thing! I highly recomend dealing with Icetool directly if anyone decides to order one, great customer service.
Well one reason I have not added to this category is that I finally became flat ass broke after 3 years without a job. But I still can trade! And today I received a wonderful selection of snuffs and some tea from Xander! And there are a total of four untried snuffs for me, Oh Joy! Thanks a million for the trade! I needed to try these snuffs for quite a while, The snuffs shall remain nameless to protect the innocent (or guilty!). Lets just say everything is coming up Roses here!
I will have high tea today, Thanks. I love Rose snuffs, and I think your contribution completes the entire common range of them for me. The Tranter is a deeper scent, quite unique, I love fresh Wilsons with that sexy bulk ammonia character, always a winner, rose.
I still love Attar from the snuff store, best scent and great tobacco, but loses a couple of points do to the courser grind. Sugandhsagar is my favorite Indian Rose, lovely one that. Gawith Hoggarth is in a league of its own, it being a toss up with the Wilsons.
Thanks to Ermtony for starting me on the Rose tour with his always insightful musings and efforts. The rose has such a lovely effect on the mind, calming. A most pleasant and surprising trade my friend, thank you.
Hopefully soon a 6 pack of 25's from Toque. This forum has really inspired me to branch out a little. Luckily the first fruity snuff I tried was Toque raspberry, so I'm not turned off to the idea.
No Ephemeris yet for me, but I did get my Toque order in today. I ordered these on March 1st, and here they are on March 7th! That's great! I had traded off all my Toques, and I wanted some I had back, and some I had not tried before. I got the 6 25g tin deal. I got: Menthol, Violet, Rose, Lavender, Berwick Brown, and SP Extra.
Received 500gs of SG SP 1HM. First bulk order. A little more fragrant and spicy than I found the 25g tin. Started to decant it. Should have to open the tub only 10 times in total. Any tips on keeping a drum fresh?
Just keep the lid on it @petersuki, as long as it is airtight it will stay fresh. SG and Wilson's tubs are the best I've got one tub thats nearly 3 years old and still as fresh as the day I bought it.
The 50 gr. Dholakia bundle from Mr. Snuff...Thanks Dave!!!! And, my beautiful wooden French flip top snuff box with clover inlay, thanks to @snuffster and @ermtony!! Banner day at the Pond!!
@petersuki: read ermtony's excellent storage tips here: http://ermtony.pbworks.com/w/page/23670787/Snuff-Storage I keep my bulk in the cellar. Not refrigerated but still quite cool. One bulk drum I had, I did not trust the lid so I transferred it to a glass bail and clamp type jar with a rubber gasket. Bulk Toques I stored in glass w/plastic lid peanut butter jars since bulk Toque is sold in bags. Everything down there is staying very fresh.
@Whalen: Almost! I will not share the tiny amount of Martian Rose I have left. I'm taking that into my sarcophagus with me. I quite like the Snuff Store Attar of Roses. Its unique in being dark & coarse for a rose snuff. The snuff you are not mentioning needs some rehydration. It will be quite nice when you do that. Rehydrate it to the same level as the other one with a similar name.
Just placed an order with Mr. Snuff. Mainly includes suggestions I've picked up from you fine people at snuffhouse: F&T High Dry Toast 25g F&T Princes Special 25g F&T Santo Domingo 25g Toque Whiskey and Honey 25g Toque Christmas pudding 10g Toque lime toast 10g Toque sp extra 10g Toque Spanish gem 10g Gawith Hoggarth: Kendal brown 10g Mccrystals O&G 10g Dholakia black 10g WoS crumbs of comfort 10g
@DPadraig: That's sounds like a fantastic order. However, one tip I would have given you ahead of time is to spend the extra $1.18 on the 25g tub of Gawith Hoggarth Kendal Brown. The tap box you ordered will almost certainly be dried out and unpleasant. The tubs are almost certainly moist and flavorful.
@Xander: actually, now that you mention it, I noticed that this is the old list that I posted; I ended up switching the KB to a 25g tub precisely because of the discussions I've seen here, haha. On my first order I was ignorant and ordered two 10g boxes of GH Ambassador and Sandalwood and they seem bone dry, although I'm not sure how dry they should have been, as the Jasmin I ordered from GH in the tub was only slightly less dry. Nonetheless, thanks for the advice.
