Speaking of plugs...Taking a quick break from my latakia bender with the new Peterson's Perfect Plug. Not particularly modest, eh? Can't say as I disagree entirely, mind. Very smooth and mellow with a faint fruity note. Not quite Mick McQuaid or Erinmore plug (the only form I would smoke the latter) but tasty.

Something from 4noggins.com called Essence of Vermont. No prize if you guessed it was topped with maple flavour! Very nice, not overly sweet, mild burley tobacco, this is my first bowl so we'll see how it goes. In a corn cob pipe, of course!

Had a Padron Corona cigar on the ride back today, one incidence of ash in the face and two incidences of smoke in the eyes. On a motorcycle you see, loved every minute of it. @holonmax Look into the Dunhill tobaccos. They have some cavendish blends that are expertly topped.

Squadron Leader gets my vote. It is a well balanced medium English Mixture similar, but not quite as good as Dunhill My Mixture 965. Skiff Mixture would be second, a little lighter than Squadron leader. Less Latakia a little more Oriental. I don't care much for Commonwealth Mixture. It is half Virginia and half Latakia. A Latakia bomb which to me is missing something because it has no Orientals.

"Tudor Castle" by McClelland. Amazing stuff--I'm converted. It's a sweet and natural Virginia flake with some Yenidje and Perique thrown in for complexity. I smoke it till my tongue demands I stop.

What a coincidence. I just finished a pipefull of SG Navy Flake. I don't smoke many flakes but that one is worth it. I also smoke a bit of SG Squadron Leader. Westminster is my second favorite tobacco right after Chelsea morning. I just ordered some Quiet Nights. Can't wait to try it.
