The people have spoken and I have taken it upon myself to help them out.
OH, great and mighty administrator please sticky this in the place on honer at the top of the list.
Dixie Sweet for me now. At first I couldn't pick up any fruit flavor, just sweet. Now The fruit flavor is coming through, and it's well on it's way toward my favorite sweet snuff.
Hi Snuffy, Tranter's is a small chain of shops, of fairly long standing. it's been quite a while since I've ordered snuffs from them, I can only recall that, back to back, their Crumbs of Comfort was the same as Wilson's C of C.
Just finished Samuel Gawith's Gold Mull, which I've really been enjoying, and will move to F&T's High Dry Toast. I seem to have finally acquired the knack for the dusty snuffs!
OT...If you're a pipe smoker and you'll be ordering snuff from Tranter, you must get some of their pipe tobacco; the blends are unique to them, for the most part. Comfort of Bath is a revelation!
@Alcyon-Thanks for the info. I will definitely have to order some of their snuffs to see what they are about. It's not often you find a snuff company you haven't heard of.
Thanks again!
~Snuffy
ap - I've been on the SG SP Scotch too. I was wondering whether your snuff was moist or dry? SP Scotch is advertised on the Sam Gawith website as moist, but mine is dry (and is not an old sample). Enjoyable snuff though.
Thanks for the recommnendations, Farley. I will eventually check all of those out. I have the Wilson's Aniseed & Eucalyptus, its nice (but only for occasional use) but if FT is better I'd be happier. I think its more like fennel than aniseed anyway. Also I agree with you on Ice Liqourace. I'd prefer less or no menthol in it, but its ok on occasion.
People were complaining of the slow loading due to the large number of posts so I started another one. The site admin. hasn't gotten round to sticking this one yet. Those round tos ar hard to get these days.
Evening all,Toque Bourbon here tonight, this is lovely snuff,i find it similar in style to the whisky and honey(i love that too).I find the bourbon to be more smoky and less sweet. Anyone else have similar experiences.I am new to the toques so still bedding in.Its about the journey not the destination.
Toque Toast & Marmalade at the moment. I must say, I'm really enjoying my toasts at the moment - it used to be all about the menthol for me but well, tastes change. That's the beauty of snuff, I guess, so much variety!
I've just been having a heyday with all the new snuffs I've gotten to try this week. Samuel Gawith Peppermint Gold is in my nose right now. It's probably the best Peppermint snuff available.
I was drinking with ermjony last night, he had a sample of the real Toque Spanish Gem That was great! I have the sample Roderick send to me version #1, It's good but not spot on. This batch I think he got rid of in America.
