Wow, has this not been reviewed yet or did I just miss the post somewhere?

Anyway, Tom at Nicotine Rush sent me a sample of this with my last order so I thought I'd post some feedback on it. This is a very fine, powdery American Scotch in line with most of the other offerings of its genre. The color is that of dark khaki and when taken properly it goes in smooth. It has about the same grind consistency as Garret, Rooster, etc.. The emphasis on this one is the "sweet". Man, is it sweet. One of the sweetest snuffs I've ever sampled. I don't know what they flavor this with but it is down right close to pure sugar in taste. Its not bad, just be advised up front of the taste. If you like sweetness or something to flavor up your mix then this one is for you. I can't say about the strength of nicotine since I am so constantly permeated with snuff all day that I really can't tell. Not a bad snuff but very distinct in its character. Thanks for the sample Tom.

Your welcome! If you think that one is sweet, try some Buttercup!

I find Society & Strawberry to be the sweetest ones out there.

I just picked up a jar of this in my local smoke shop. The only other variety they offer is Tops, which I wrote about at the time I found it.
The only thing I have to add to Spyro's review is that the nicotine is quite high. I got an instant nic hit and said wow! I had not had snuff in about an hour at the time. I'm not sure what they use to sweeten it with either, but something about the flavor took me back to my old dipping days. I can't put my finger on it, but I think the flavor is much like one of the Skoal varieties of moist snuff.

I don't know if it's all that sweet. I got a tin from Bigbuyer in a trade, and it was good enough to turn me on to the other sweet scotches. It's kinda tangy, really not at all what I expected. I've darned near snufflicated the whole can in less time than I care to think about.

I just had a pinch of this about 10 minutes ago. It's not as sweet as most of the sweet scotches, but its still plenty sweet. It has a unique character to it. Its darker than most of them too.

I do like the Buttercup, both the underlying flavor and the sweetness. Honey Bee is another one I like. But I rarely use sweets at all. In fact, I'm still working through the American Sweet Scotch #1 sample pack I got from Nic Rush back in early March. Once I found my favorites among the American Plain scotches, the Sweets went into the bottom drawer.

I just got a can of Carharts sweet today with my order from Nicotine Rush. To be fair, I haven't spent much time on it, as I'm going through sampling all the ones I just got. But, right off the bat, this seems like a stand up snuff. In my opinion it's a fair bit sweeter than red seal and goes down a bit smoother. Overall though, most of the US smokeless snuffs seem a bit harder to take for me than the swisher or garrett varieties. Anyway, I look forward to spending more time with this one.

After comparing my 1954 Carhart's Sweet with a fresh can, I was amazed of the power in the fresh one. I like it a lot, and Buttercup too. It's a little weird to me, since I am not a great fan of sweet snuffs otherwise. I can see myself using Carhart's Sweet as an all day snuff definitely.

It's interesting to note that I sell MANY cases of Carhart's to mostly older/elderly women. It has been their 'dip of choice' since many of them were little girls.

Most of the urban smokeshops here carry that brand. Most of the urban black older women are southern transplants, or are the daughters of transplants, so its not suprising. They do lean towards the sweets. I can only buy a few non sweet ones locally. I wondered how much of your customer base was traditional dippers, Tom, not snuff geeks like me and the folks here (no offense intended, fellow geeks).

Although I don't have exact numbers, many are. I'd say in the neighborhood of 15-20% and growing weekly as they find my site.

And it might surprise you to know that many/most are not black (so far). I've talked on the phone to many of them. Most are older and uncomfortable with the internet/computers.

I know in general most are not black. It just here in the north where most of the southern transplants happen to be black. Dipping dry snuff is more common among southerners.

I was recently in the V.A Hospital here in Dallas,Texas and happened upon a black woman who 'dipped' Garret S&M. She was totally opposed to the idea of sniffing anything up her nose. Surprisingly, nasal snuff was a big hit amongst the veterans and I got at least one guy turned on to ordering from Toque. Roderick can thank me for sennding him more business.

I took some scotch snuff and added a little water, just enough to give it a clay like consistency, and formed like a loose snus pris with it. It stayed together well, but was not very flavorful.

I've tried a few times to put scotches in my mouth but it never works for me. I'd rather just buy a can of dip. I heard someone say they use a wet toothpick and just lightly suck on it after coating it with Garret. That might actually work.

    @Spryo

I've seriously thought about trying this and doing something just like that but I'm afraid of screwing up/accidentally giving moisture to the rest of the snuff in the can after sticking something moist (finger, toothpick or a good sized "Rustica Stick" I saved out of the bag I got from Toque).
