I just got my sample for Jaap today and I must say this snuff is absolutely great for being tobacco-free. The scent of this snuff say within the senses for a very long time! Jaap outstanding job on this one!! I detect some clove nutmeg so far...Jaap is there any way you could give me some insight on what other herbs and spices are in this snuff...

    Cheers,
    Rob aka celticsnuffer

I don't get the point of tobacco-less snuff. Isn't that a bit like unalcoholic malt?

@ snuff box snuff predates tobacco especialy in places where tobacco was relativly recent at one point (if that makes sense). Though I will say I'll never buy a tobacco free snuff unless it's really good.

    Hello Rob,

The German receipe says: Corn flower, Marigold, Lavender, Majoram, Common sage, Savory, Yellow sandalwood, Orris root, Cinnamon, Cloves, Zeodary, Cardamom a little sugar and a touch of Musk, all wetted with a little ethanol.

    Jaap Bes.

@Jaap:Wow those ingredients sound fantastic. Can't wait to try them tommorw since i'm very tired now and going to bed.
BTW If I corretly understood, those windmills on that postcar you put in the envelope are the windmills where snuff is/was grinded?

I got my sample yesterday & immediately tried some. I have to say it is a very enjoyable snuff even being tobacco-free. The bouquet is great & like Rob said, it stays with you for a long time & does go great with the fall season. This could definitely be a great tobacco free snuff alternative for the holidays. And would be a great snuff to market to people who get headaches & might not want to use tobacco.

Thank you again for the sample Jaap Bes,

    Brian.

I received mine today. And like trout immediately tried some I think it is very nice. I picked up the sage, cinnamon, and cloves the most initially then came the lavender I think. Thanks once again Jaap. I think I will save some of it to give to people who don't like tobacco when they get curious to my habit.

Thanks Jaap, I received my sample on Monday. The scent was so potent that our secretary even remarked that the envelope was strong smelling having come all the way from the netherlands. The scent was very pleasant, but I do miss the lift from tobacco. It's probably not one that I would use on a regular basis. but was very nice to try.

Thanks for the sample Jaap. It's a very enjoyable scent. Like some of the others here have stated, I'm into snuffing ultimately for the tobacco and nicotine. Perhaps potpourri #2 could be the same scent but with tobacco? I can see buying some of that! I think my favorite part was the postcard of the windmills. I haven't been to your site since last year but I'm thinking the only pics of the windmills were in black and white? They really jumped right out of the postcard, they're beautiful! I immediately stuck it to one of the cabinets in my workshop. If I ever find myself in Europe (as if I'd get that lucky) I'm coming by for a tour. The A/P remains one of my favorite snuffs. Whenever I have someone around that's willing to try some snuff I make sure they try it. Reminds me of walking through a snow covered pine forest on a winters day.
