I'm well-versed in snus, but still a snuff newb. I'm wondering if there are any special long-term storage considerations for nasal snuff? I'm used to keeping snus cold, and even bought a mini-fridge for open-in-use cans for the bedroom. I would assume that refrigeration in dry snuff would cause unwanted excess moisture?

The biggest thing you want to do for long term storage is make sure the container its in seals good & you can either ziploc bag each tin or tape the seam of tin. Also keep in a cooler part of house/room where the temp. doesn't fluctuate extremely, preferably in dark storage. Definitely keep away from window. You also want to store the snuff away from something that has a strong scent as snuff is like a sponge & will suck in other scents. Some snuffs you can store in refrigerator with great success. Just keep in mind about the scents you have in the fridge but your mini fridge would probably be fine unless you keep food in there as well. You can use things like Kilner jars to store snuff in, also things like a 6pack igloo cooler, military ammo cans etc.

To sum it up just make sure its sealed good, kept at fairly constant lower temp & away from contaminating scents & kept out of sunlight.

    IDGod,

Most stores like a walmart will have them like this 3 pc. canister set.. They are usually in the 'kitchen storage' area of stores and may also be called 'kitchen canisters'. You can also find online. You can find anything from a simple clear glass model to a ceramic model with designs or even stainless steel jumbo size like this Jumbo Canister. I have both glass & ceramics, The ceramic ones are good at keeping the light out but these are usually a little more expensive. I have a set of nice ones that are trout skin pattern designs that I received as a gift, you can see here Kitchen Canisters

1Fed & IDGod, here is an older discussion about this topic. Long term storage You can see my comment #5 on this link for some other ideas like the TightVac Jar
