Apologies if this has come up recently, I'm a newb. I'm getting some Wilson's Crumbs of Comfort from a gentleman who posts on the forums at sunon.com. Seems many of us have tried all there is to try in S. snus and are moving toward dry snuff experimentation. The guy sending it is very fond of it and I can't help thinking of mint-chip cookies or something when I hear the name. Just wondering if it's a favorite here?
Crumbs of Comfort is one of my favourite snuffs - its not over powering like some menthols can be, very much like chewing gum for your nose. Nicotine medium - low / its a medium moist grind so easy to take.
Thanks fellas, my Wilson's crush-box sampler from the snus forum guy arrived today. Crumbs is pretty amazing, as is Lemon Grove. I'm still new at this, and I know direct comparison is hard, but I'm enjoying Toque Menthol and Peppermint, more than the Wilson's stuff in general. I haven't found a convenient place to buy the CoC nearby anyway, so I'm going easy on it so it'll last. Initially, I don't care for the Irish High Toast or the SP Best, but I've learned with many tobaccos I've acquired a taste after some time with them, so i will give them that time before judging. I'm a huge fan of all types of mint and menthol, are there any snuffs I should seek out besides Toque and Wilson's CoC?
I like Snus a lot, too. My favorite is ETAN, and then Skruf. There's probably a thousand different snuffs to try, so have fun finding your favorites. I have about 50 of them!
If you are a fan of menthol snuffs, you can't go wrong with some McChrystal's Original & Genuine. It's been a favorite of mine for a few years now - I go through about two 10g tins of it every three days or so. Though after trying Toque, I don't know if I'll be using it quite so heavily...Roderick has a truly amazing product :)
I definitely get a different "vibe" from snuffing than I do from daily constant Swedish snus use. Snus was my device to quit smoking and it served me very well. At this point though it's simply a blood-nicotine level maintenence thing. With snuff, it feels more like an enjoyable ritual. I love exposing new people to snuff, as most people who are aware of nasal snuff seem to think it's one of those things lost to the ages, like spitoons or horse-drawn carriages. It's an old-world novelty, something quaint you read about in books. Toque's recent success is awesome, as it exposes snuff to new users and probably benefits the whole industry. Camel snus for instance is terrible, but it's led thousands[many more?] of Americans to seek out Sweden's finest, I would think Camel's bastardization has benefitted the entire smokeless tobacco industry. Toque's faithful following is growing probably daily, something that will likely lead to imitators, competition and increase consumer demand for nasal snuff. I'm excited to see what the future holds for the industry and for us, as users.
