After speaking to Larry, CEO of www.rateitall.com about the deliberate sabotaging of Toques rating; he has instigated new procedures to stop false ratings being entered on rateitall. Nice to see a CEO listening to and remedying faults so efficiently. Rateitall has now gone from a good company to a great company. IMHO.

Roderick what makes you believe there was "deliberate sabotaging of Toques rating?" Is it due to the fact that you received some one (1) star ratings for Toque on rateitall.com? If so, fyi, one of those 1 star ratings came from me. A few came from my co-workers. We happen to be on Wi-Fi in our building which will show up as one IP address on rateitall.com. Perhaps that is why my friends and I saw a drastic correction on ALL smokeless tobacco ratings there yesterday.

Thanks to your post on this site I will be calling my co-workers who are at home today (Saturday) so that they can go back into rateitall.com and re-enter their valid rating.

Toque is truly a terrible nasal snuff. I'm not a big fan of nasal snus, but can tell you that Toque is the worst I've tried thus far.

Again, thank you so much for posting that you whined to Lawrence. Allows us to correct the problem, thus keeping Grizzly Smokeless on top!!!

This is very interesting, I didn't know there was such a thing as nasal snus.

In Scandinavia snus is a widespread form of mouth tobacco or oral tobacco. Snus is a semi-moist tobacco which is grinded into powder form. The most common form of snus in Scandinavia is loose snus or portion snus. Several types that are called snus exist. One is the kind of snus that one sniff through the nose, also known as nasal snus. Furthermore, American variants go under the name snus. Snus produced in Europe is made from completely different standards than the American and contains less of the deleterious substances like nitrosamines.

The EU adopted a directive as early as in 1992 prohibiting the sale of tobacco for "oral use not intended to be smoked or chewed," which included the Swedish snus but not, for example, chewing tobacco or nasal snus.

Roderick, don't you think is is highly unethical being fact that you have a financial interest in Toque to be posting a rating for Toque on rateitall.com? I certainly do. It is a community forum for consumers to rate products...NOT for vendors to promote their products. Shame on you and Lawrence at rateitall for allowing this to happen.

You put way too much effort into disliking Toque. I can't stand Poschl snuffs, my solution is the only sensible one I can think of, I don't buy it.

You sound like a shill, jemahon4. You're not a fan of nasal snuff, yet you feel so strongly about a particular brand? Do you have any particular critique? Or are you an online retailer of Snus or snuff who is worried that Toque's marketing will take some of your customers away? If so, please don't worry. I guarantee you that the customer target segment for Grizzly, for instance, does not overlap the target audience for Toque. Maybe some new snusers who are quitting cigarettes might switch to snuff, but you don't have to commit brand assassination if you're only worried about losing Grizzly sales. I'm new to this forum and I've been very happy there is a place for snuffers to communicate. Please don't ruin it with senseless rancor.

Are you a friend of Steverino1958? You write in a similar manner.

Ethics don't come into it, anyone can promote anything anywhere they like.

Toque is an outstanding company producing snuff that is now being enjoyed by millions; in the long run it will save lives.

Everyone has different tastes - there are plenty of snuffs I don't like - promotion of snuff, in any forum, is a good thing.

American variants go under the name 'moist snuff' not 'snus'. And its called 'nasal snuff' not 'nasal snus'. If your having people vote low on Toque just to keep your Grizzly high, that is 'deliberate sabotage' Especially when most of the people rating Toque a 1 have probably never even tried it. You could tell that when it went from 30 ratings to over 140 rating in a matter of days. And not one of those added an actual review. You said your not a fan of nasal snuff so I doubt that you have even tried it yourself. Shame on you. It is a community forum to rate products, but not to rate products you've never tried. Its kind of sad that you created an account here 4 hours ago just so you could cry, piss & moan & let everyone know that your going to sabotage Toque again to keep your beloved Grizzly on top. BTW Copenhagen is much better, you should switch to a real dip.

First and foremost I do not have any affiliation with the smokeless tobacco industry. Secondly, I didn't start the "rancor" on this post. It was Roderick's post that raised my ire with his reckless allegations of "deliberate sabotaging of Toques rating" on rateitall. If you read my post carefully you will notice that I happen to be one of the individuals that gave Toque an unfavorable rating. I tried the product and disliked it.

While I'm not a big fan of dry snuff, I do pick up a 12 pack of W. E. Garrett Scotch snuff at my local Sam's Club about once a year. The rest of the time I dip moist snuff which at the moment is Grizzly. Not because Grizzly is the best moist smokeless tobacco on the market, but because it is an affordable alternative to the best and the best being Copenhagen. I refuse to pay the outrageous price that the USTC charges for their products.

I've been using dry and moist snuff for 32 years. I started with a dry snuff call Checkerberry which was very popular in New England until about 25 years ago when it disappeared off the market due to declining demand. It was a great product but succumbed to the lack of interest is dry smokeless products while the moist snuff market started to increase in sales. I then dipped Copenhagen until about five years ago when they took advantage of the growing popularity of moist smokeless tobacco and had limited competition.

Let me ask you, are you actually using Garrett & Toque in the nose or in the mouth. It sounds like you used Toque in the mouth & its supposed to be used in the nose.

BTW Troutstroker, I NEVER urged anyone to vote down Toque. I sarcastically thanked Roderick for having rateitall correct the problem. Toque was #1 on the list before the correction so get your facts straight pal. I don't even give Grizzly a 5, I rated it 4!!! Copenhagen deservedly got my 5 stars for it's product quality despite my grievance with it's price.

Toque was not #1 before the correction, It fell down to somewhere around a 1.7 rating with over 100 new ratings in about a 2 day time frame. That was before the correction.

I NEVER saw it at 1.7 stroker. Although I do not make it a habit to visit the smokeless tobacco ratings on rateitall as you seem to. All I know is that it was #1 on September 10th. The day I rated it. Now it's in 4th place.

@jemahon: If you don't like nasal snuff why create an account here. If you truly wanted to bash Roderick why not burn him on Rateitall ? We have a rather harmonious and civil community here. And quite frankly I enjoy it that way. If you'll notice that it says Snuffhouse.org Dedicated to Nasal Snuff. So go call all your buddies tell them about the abuse you have suffered So you all can come here and start a big commotion. Lets just get it over with. I myself am done with it and I am of the opinion the rest of the guys are too. So if you would please take your rancor elsewhere it would be appreciated....................... Good Day, Sir
  5.  # 24
If your a user of nasal snuff, only then can you accurately & fairly rate individual brands/flavors etc. If I wasn't a 'big fan' of nasal snuff, I surely wouldn't start rating them. Just like if someone wasn't a big fan of lip tobacco, it wouldn't make any sense for them to start rating lip tobacco because that rating would be based on no knowledge or no real experience with that type of product.
  6.  # 25
Well, you don't sound like a shill after all. Maybe it was just coincidence that you rated Toque a one around the time that someone else was abusing rateitall. You just seem to like american scotches and abhor the styles popular in the rest of the world, of which toque snuffs are a representative variant. Still weird that you would come this site.

But this shill is still a plonker. Clearly has no clue at all about real snuff.

jemahon4, Your more than welcome to come here and have a civil discussion about snuff or other tobacco's. Otherwise you can just go elsewhere. Its no problem that you don't like Toque, everyone has different taste, you just came across a little harsh. If your interested. I'm sure we can recommend some snuffs you will really enjoy.

But there had been a problem with rateitall, I was watching as it was happening.

Well, I will put my cards on the table here; as said repeatedly by the genuine members here - this is a harmonious and friendly site. Thats how we want it and is why we have so many members who join, contribute positively to our hobby and stay. If you were in a stamp collecting club would you want a member that rattled on in the same way as jemahon4 about how lousy stamps are?

This is a site dedicated to snuff and used by people who want to share their enjoyment and experiences about snuff, not some rancorous debating society. I say ban him.

Pardner - don't get the wrong idea buddy - this is not typical.
