I just went to rateitall.com 9 out of 9 very kind snuffers had rated Toque 5 stars, yet the site said Toque was rated 2.33. Their little chart on the left shows 20 saying Toque is terrible 1 star and 10 giving it 5 stars. Only problem is they've only had 9 submissions???
Well I just made up a new account under a different username & email address and I was able to rate without writing a review. So it is possible to rate without your username or any comments shown.
I noticed Dholakia snuff is on there now as well. They have a 2.0 based on 8 ratings but only have 1 review. So maybe someone who doesn't like Toque or Dholakia is rating bad over and over in spite, one name comes to mind. Or someone just wants Copenhagen to stay on top of the list? And when your on the dholakia review page, Yahoo Shopping has links and pictures of Dholakia's new snuff on the left through Cup O Joes.com.
So I guess you could get all the members here who do enjoy Toque to rate it under many different accounts to combat the onslaught of unnecessary negativity. You might have people giving it a bad rating and have never actually tried it just to get their favorite higher on the list.
And add your review for Dholakia while your there.
I don't understand that ether BrianC. I have not liked everything I have tried but I just don't buy it. I know other people must like it or they would quit making it. That is what is should make life great. We should all have the freedom to use what we like without bigbrother telling us what we should or should not buy.
It seems rateitall could do something about it. For example, multiple posts to the same thread could be screened out with an IP address filter. Or am I mistaken?
That would slow it down but not totally drown it out. There are free programs out there for download that will constantly change the IP address, you can set it to change automatically every few seconds or every few minutes. Or they could just use different computers. It would definitely help though to have a filter of some sort.
