Because enough people will think that the news is covering up the truth! Then douchebags bigfoot tours get all this free publicity (cost of a gorrila suit).

Trust a police officer?!?!?! Here in Boston cops are getting busted all the time. The last news of such an incident was just a few weeks ago. Some Boston cop was running a really big drug ring. He was selling Coke, and Steroids using a bunch of locals to do the running, while he kept the cops off their backs. This isn't the first time, and it won't be the last.

Getting a badge and a gun before you really get a chance to do anything illegal sure makes it easier to do illegal things later.

Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I know that there are such things as 'bent cops' but still though a Police Officer is supposed to have the highest levels of honesty and integrity. How could the community he polices believe a word he says now that he's done something like this?

    Perhaps I'm being naive...

Lazarus, that cop involved with this was fired. He was charged with perpetrating a fraud.
  2.  # 42
A few years back there was a cop not far from here that went down for a string of bank robberies.

Lazarus, sorry, cops are just people and prone to all the things people do. I wish it was otherwise, but they are the exception whatever anyone says, and I say that with 20 years experience in a major force. Naive? maybe a little, but thats not a crime..

    Troutstroker,

I'm glad to hear he's been fired. As I said you can't have that sort of thing going on without punishment...what was he thinking?

Fair comment Snuffster, sometimes I can be an idealist...i'm sure it will land me in trouble one of these days!

It's a job. It's an important job which is why dicks who don't care suck so bad when cops kind of like the same way doctors that don't care suck. There are criminals all over the place in all professions. Unfortunately for some reasons the bastards make more of an impression then the awesome. I've had more cops be helpfull then otherwise yet the dicks come to mind first (even though they where more fun in the long run)

Hey laz was that suppose to be a whisper. Where are you from anyway. I cannot imagine you are frome the states. I fig you are from G.B. I wish a guy like you could make it through the cop process here in the states. It might be nice for a really good guy to be a "PEACE OFFICER". Anyway good luck in your pursuit.

Lazarus stick in there we need police officers like you.
I was with an American Diplomat, over 15 years ago in London, and we were loading wine into his car when two young police officers pulled up next to us and started swearing and shouting about parking on double yellow lines (not illegal if you are loading). I was horrified by their behaviour and as I always believe you should go to the top; I phoned the chief constables office in London to complain. Not surprisingly I didn't get the chief, but I did get to speak to a very, very senior police officer who ended up complaining to me about the poor standard of police cadets they now get and how they were really desperate for intelligent conscientious police officers. So like I said stick in, you will probably shoot through the ranks and have a very satisfying career.

Yeah keep with it Lazarus, just don't be surprised to see that throughout. Also I see how bigblue can see your not from the states, reading what you wrote is almost a different language! Good Luck and don't get bollocks (I think that made sence).

Roderick, I was made to understand that police recruit is by invitation only. So, they only have themselves to blame. It's all a numbers game - hit your yearly recruitment target and hope for the best.

Easy to get whispers wrong, I've been a cop for 20 years so Laz and I often have a chat about stuff.
