My car broke down recently, and much to my embarrassment, I had to be 'rescued'.
Now I say that it was embarrassing because I pride myself on having a decent set of tools, and the problem could easily be fixed if I had actually put a simple toolkit in my car!

So, to avoid future stupidity, I'm assembling a simple toolkit for my car, containing a few essentials.
I'm also thinking that I may one day find myself stranded somewhere remote, and have to work on my car for a couple of hours.
One 'essential' item for my toolkit then, is a small container of snuff, so that I don't have nicotine withdrawal to add to my problems!

Because a car goes through extremes of temperature and humidity, I need a container that will keep the snuff in reasonable condition, perhaps for several years.

I've had a few ideas, like sealing a tin in polythene using an iron, but I was wondering if someone with more knowledge had any better storage suggestions?

I have bought tins of snuff in the past that despite being taped up or wrapped in cellophane, have managed to rust solid. The snuff has always been fine, but it's not ideal.

I'd prefer if any suggestions incorporated the original container, so that I don't get arrested for possession of Heroin if my car is searched!

Buy a tin of your usual and dont open it. Find an old pair of binoculars that still have the sachet of absorbant granules in the case. Wrap the can in several layers of clingfilm. Put this package inside an old plastic jar (the ones that hold peanuts) and seal tight with the sachet, alternatively, but not as good, use a zip lock bag. This will last past the next ice age.

The heat that is produced inside a parked car with the windows up is not a snuffs best friend. Whatever you seal it in, try to store in something that has some kind of insulation to keep the extreme fluctuations down to a minimum, something like an insulated lunch box or similar item like a wide mouth thermos. Even roll it up in an old shirt/rag if nothing else. You then would have something to wipe your hands with if you had to do emergency road repair. Its probably best if your going to do this, pick a snuff of the dry variety.

Or, I could point 'Merdok' in your direction and tell him to wait for you to say something funny- then he'll simply die of old age.

Wow apparently not a Macgyver fan huh? It was a show from the 80s, really popular here in the US. Personally I love watching it now because I think everything he does is considered funny. Its funny because its so corny and completely off the wall the things this guy comes up with. On one episode he was stuck in a South American jail. A guy was going to give him some explosive to blow the door so he could get out. Instead he asked the guy to just give him a can of freon gas from his refrigerator that he used to freeze a metal lock and shatter it like glass. From what I heard, it is going to be in production soon. I also heard that about the A-Team so who knows. Did you see the episode I was referring too? I think it was in session 2 when you first meet Merdok. I was at blockbuster the other day and had a free movie rental so I picked up one disk from the MacGyver set. Also I was watching TMZ the other day and they for some reason had him on film with his mother. He is frekin fat now, its nuts! Ohh and nobody can blaim you for being prepared, thats exactly what MacGyver would do! Its so funny how the guy goes nowhere without duct tape. I mean he could be taking a shower, and if there was a leak he would pull duct tape out of his ass and fix it.

they make car humindors. why have one when u can have an extra collection in your car in case u get stranded in the woods and winter sets in and u are alone with nuthin but ur snuff and a hatchet and a bear ate ur car.
