My hankerchiefs are put into a washing machine cycle at 30 degrees and it doesn't seem to be shifting some of the more 'stubborn' stains. It would appear the mixture of snot & tobacco should have be used to replace mortar as it is very difficult to get off!!
I always just wash mine with hot water in the sink and leave it hanging overnight to dry. I only use one- and I've never put it in the washing machine!
I don't seem to ever have any trouble with mine. I wash on the warm/cold rinse cycle on the quick wash setting with a good detergent/soap. Then I put in dryer with a fabric softener sheet. They come out clean & soft every time.
I've never used a hankie b4. I just have regular tissues and chuck 'em out when finished. I'm not sure how I'd like a pocket full of snuff buggers in my pocket...lol what's the advantage to a hankie?
Sometimes I just blow my nose on my T shirt. Its an old Linkin Park shirt which I wear with ragged shorts indoors and has food stains on it, Gets washed whenever my wife can't stand it anymore.
I'll let you all in on my little secret. When I am home snuffing, I just go into my bathroom put my nose into the sink and blow! Once my nose is all clean, I just turn on the water and wash away the evidence. It works out great, no trash and you can wash your hands as well!
It is gross I suppose but it' nice to liberate yourself from the modern obsession with cleanliness. Basically, my bumming around the house clothing is two filthy rags but there is something deeply satisfying about just wiping my mouth or nose on the t shirt or nike shorts. They currently have a predominance of curry stains on them. I think I will be ordered to wash them soon as they smell something akin to a dog now.
Thats a good point Troutstroker, after i've been using a hankie for a couple of hours I notice when I blow my nose a nice smell rises off it...my wife also says shes gets a nice smell when she gives me a kiss after i've been snuffing. Anyone else had this?
