I am a huge poschl user, but I have noticed over the past few months one of my favorits, Appricot, has started to give me some trouble in terms of plugging mr right up.

Can't open Viking tin

I have a 25g tin of Viking Dark. I can't get it open. The top does not come off like it would on a tin of Taxi even if I use more force than I think I can safely use without spilling half the snuff when it pops open. It also won't twist off like the top of a Toque tin.

Am I missing something?

Since some of us have massive collections of snuff, it can take awhile to reach the bottom of any particular tin. I find that if I focus on a few, I can actually empty them!

So today, for me I finished a 10g tin of Wilsons of Sharrow Tangerine.
Good, but maybe not one to get again for some time.

I have never tried mixing Viking with a different snuff. I have the 500 gram tube now and am interested in what you have tried. I have a tin of G&H KB that I thought would work well.

Found something that helps with the sinus congestion:

1.)Press the tongue against the roof of the mouth

2.)Press finger between eyebrows

Give it a few seconds and you should start to feel the snot start to loosen up.

Apparently it moves the Vomer bone back and forth?

Just cracked the Makla Ifrikia open, this has got to be the weirdest snuff I have seen, it's like a cross between mud & dung,it's dark grey in color, super moist, super strong and very difficult to get in your nose...

So apparently at Mr. Snuff NOW it costs LESS to buy TEN 25g TINS than it does to buy 260g BULK!!!! WTH is up with this?
I saw the post about this I guess last week but this is RIDICULOUS. It went from $30 to $50?????

So my question is- DO I (living in the US unfortunately) HAVE ANY OTHER OPTIONS?
I've been waiting to make a bulk purchase but it looks like I'm gonna have to just wipe out the 25g stock.......................

VERY disappointed, and I'm usually VERY impressed. :(

HEY EVERYONE! I know you have missed me! ;) I've been really busy with a new job and whatnot so its hard to contribute but I will when I can! I'm always here reading, not always typing.

I was curious- any snuffers here from TN or neighboring states in the US? If so, I'd like to meet up or something- possibly do some trading, have a drink or two, take/try some snuff... you know. If anyone is interested or nearby gimme a shout on here!

My sense of smell is gone

I've had the flu for the past week, and was using snuff during that time no problem with the scents being strong despite a blocked nose for the most part, and now, for the last 2 days my sense of smell is completely gone even though my nose isn't blocked anymore. The only difference between all my snuffs is the texture. Even my strongest smelling snuffs SG Plum, Cheese & Bacon, Berwick brown, 6 photo etc have no scent to me. The menthols don't smell either but they do have the burn.

Anyone had that happen before?

I'm curious if anybody has tried these guys? They have pipe tobacco, cigars, chewing tobacco, etc. I stumbled upon them while trying to find a place to buy chewing tobacco online. I ordered one of their chew samplers that lets you pick 3 different kinds.

Their nasal tobacco section is empty. PACT? Their chew section intrigued me so I ordered the smaller sample and chose these flavors.
Connecticut Broadleaf Chew

...An "Old Time" lightly flavored chew with more of a natural taste. (Like the old Beechnut)

Mountain Man Chaw

...NEW...A Great all around flavor.

Rocking Chair Chew

...A long lasting flavor with a hint of Date, Walnut, & Honey ~ very Red Mannish!

The second most basic snuff recipe/procedure

Could someone with experience post the worlds second most basic snuff recipe and procedure. The worlds easiest I assume is to grind dry tobacco leaves, I already know that. :) I'm thinking if I had purchased some cured leaf, what do I do to it to make it similar to a commercially made product. Something very simple that anyone could do as a first go and get some success. Please list the amounts of any of the ingredients and how to go about it.

I have been trying to get hold of this stuff from Bernard for about a year.

I finally have some in stock. The problem is I really don't know what it is. It looks like twist on a stick. Has anybody tried it? Any opinions? A review would be great.

Do you use several Snuffs when Snuffing

Her indoors can not understand how I can go from a Menthol, to a fruit , to plain, to a Schmalzer in the same hour.

I don't think I am snuffing wrong, and I have told her that one Pinch will clear the other.

I have not noticed any discernible reduction in the experience & pleasure from taking one after another, in fact ( and I might be kidding my self here) I think the differences enhance the whole experience.

Your thoughts please?

Problems with Gawith-Hoggarth Tubs

Has anyone else had problems with the Gawith-Hoggarth Tubs?

I half-opened a tub of Kendal Brown, knocked it, & ended up with half on the floor. A friend asked, just prior to when I opened my order, how they survived the transit since they opened so easily.

Really nice snuff, though.
